First, if you are a budget traveler, don´t buy the bus ticket. The walk through Shuzheng Valey takes aproximately 4 hours and is one of the nicest in the park. When you get to the Shuzheng Village you can hop on a bus to get to the other parts of the park (they usually don´t check the tickets, just enter the bus through the middle door). But beware, off season the plank wall is closed and you will have to walk untill Reed Lake on the main road. We did this and it not so bad as it sounds, altought a bit dangerous (chinese bus drivers are crazy).
Second,do eat at one of the tibetan villages on the way, the food is cheaper and the main restaurant at the tourist center was closed during our stay. We had very good rice with vegetables, dumplings and yak tea for 40 RMB.
Finally, if you don´t want to walk the way up, take the bus up and the hop on/off on the way down. It is nearly impossible to stop a bus on the way up.

Clear waters, calm and serene scenery, nice greenery altogether a great place to rejuvenate your senses and get re-entwined with nature.

I saved this part for last in my daytrip to jiuzhaigou. Its not that its not interesting, but the more dramatic shots for early morning should be done in the higher parts to capture the low lying clouds. There were plenty of wooden plank trails and I tended to take those instead of walking along the concrete roads.

I found this part of the park most interesting! With waterfalls of different shapes and sizes as we walked down the path in the valley. Not just beautiful but full of life!

This valley is very pretty with lots of water from waterfall. You can take time walking and sight seeing around. The path is easy and well constructed.

We went after the rain. It was spectacular! Water gushing down so rapidly. One could just stand there and drink in the beauty.

Free bus routes of the Nature Reserve take you to various points of must-visit spots within the reserve which is included in your day ticket purchased at the main gate.
