Fun and learning never end at McWane Science Center, a nonprofit, hands-on museum and IMAX(R) Dome Theater. Four floors of interactive exhibits celebrate science and wonder - from an amazing collection of dinosaurs to innovative environmental showcases, imaginative early childhood playgrounds, and an awe-inspiring aquarium. The energy and excitement of discovery spring to life through an extensive lineup of science demonstrations performed daily by talented educators. The adventure intensifies in the IMAX(R) Dome Theater, where wide-eyed visitors experience the sights and sounds of breathtaking films on a 5-story-tall screen surrounded by 3 tons of high-intensity speakers.

This science center is definitely for kids and families. This is not the place to expect yourself to learn something new about science, it's more for basic scientific principles and getting to understand them on a child's level. That being said, this place is awesome for kids! My two year old runs around and has an opportunity to be curious,... More

One day isn't enough time to cover all four floors. The activities are engaging to both kids and adults. Even my kid that is not science oriented had a blast. The museum was clean and well maintained. One thing I noticed was how few things weren't working. Most children's museums have a lot of exhibits that don't function properly, or... More

We like coming here when we are in town. I have a son with autism and this type of museums is very entertaining and motivating for him. We enjoy walking through the different exhibits and have a nice afternoon out of it.

McWane Center is happening every time my daughter's school does a field trip. The museum has so many attractions and exhibits change to keep the children engaged. You just have to trust me on this one. The kids have a great time. You might lose your breath

This may not be the fanciest children's museum/science center, but it is always fun (though it really is nice). Yesterday the children were high energy and everyone appeared to be having a good time. The place was packed, but that didn't detract from the experience. There are a lot of hands-on things to do, and children love getting hand-on! There... More

Our family spent a few hours here. Our kids (15,13,11) enjoyed it. However, several displays were broken or not in use. It also has it's fair share of wild kids running everywhere and not waiting their turn. We enjoyed the displays and the high bike is awesome. Ticket counter help was rude, but all in all we had a fun... More

This museum is sensory overload. Kids running, screaming, bouncing off the walls, which is what is was designed for. Nothing is aimed at the intellect of the children

This is a bit of a cross between a "science museum" and a "children's museum" -- lots of great child-oriented activities that are somewhat related to science. Some of the activities have more science content, but mostly it's just really fun stuff for kids to do. My kids are young (3 and 5) and they always have a blast (we're... More
