I don't even know where to begin to descibe our adventure at Sims Cave Park. Literally, there are no words because "awesome" and "amazing" just don't cut it. I was driving from Chicago to Florida with 2 teenage boys and I wanted something to do to break up the drive. I emailed Wes from the website to see if they had any openings. He responded right away and was able to fit us in exactly when we wanted. We arrived early and he made arrangements to get there early as well, which was totally above and beyond. I had no idea what to expect, but I thought we'd be waiting in some commercial building with a bunch of other people and walking through a cave. Instead, Wes met us while parking and led us up to a small building with a propane heater and told us to make sure we brought our spare clothes. He fit us with helmets and knee pads and set us off on a short hike to the cave opening. We jumped down into the cave from the ground and the adventure began. We walked and crawled through rocks, mud, and water for several hours and saw phenomenal formations, waterfalls, bats, rare salamanders, and fossils. It was physically challenging, which made every accomplishment satisfying!! Wes was truly accommodating , knowledgeable, and helpful along the way. He's also just a super cool guy in general. He gave the boys a lot of choices on which way they wanted to go based on how much adventure they wanted to get out of the trip. By the the end, we were exhausted, wet, and filthy, which is exactly how a cave adventure should end. We got back to the heated building and were glad to have the extra clothes. Wes gave us towels and bags for our wet stuff. Wes made sure we felt like a part of the "cave family" and invited us back any time. I'm a middle aged adult who has been to a lot of places and done a lot of things, but this was definitely one of the coolest things I have ever done .

Booked this trip with Wes for a bachelor weekend. Exceeded everyone’s expectations by far! Wes is super knowledgeable, fun and can really personalize a trip. The cave can be easier or harder depending on what you want out of it. I would recommend this to anyone who is seeking an adventurous outing unlike anything you’ve done.

I am in town a few weeks for some computer nerd training and was looking for a local experience that was completely opposite of that… and this delivered! Wes was able to get me scheduled on short notice and while it would definitely be fun sharing that trip with others, I thoroughly enjoyed the personalized one-on-one adventure! We spent nearly 5 hours climbing, sliding, crawling, slithering and floating through the amazing underground wonderland. Wes provided a helmet with light and elbow and knee pads, but I would strongly suggest bringing some gloves, especially if you are feeling froggy when he presents you with the option of “choosing your own adventure” and taking the route through the “Dragon’s Throat” (which you absolutely SHOULD do…). The geology, fossils and cave life discovered along the way were also very interesting. A day after this tour my body looks and feels like I played a rugby match… but, I loved every minute of it. Wes is a great host for his cave paradise and I can see without a doubt he has something very special here. I look forward to seeing what he does next!

Absolutely amazing! This experience was like no other. You can tell that Wes really loves taking people into this cave. He was an awesome guide and very knowledgeable. We had 8 people in our group from kids to adults and we were all pushed to our limits and absolutely exhausted when done. I will be back to do this again with the rest of my family. Do not let your fear get in the way of doing something truly amazing. Go on this adventure!!

The entire adventure was awesome. You are definitely getting down and dirty because you are not just walking through wide open caverns. We squeezed through narrow spaces and holes, belly crawled military style through low water and silt, and we transversed along ledges that were 80 feet up. It was exhilarating. Wes told us about his cave and how his family has been spending years slowly finding new hidden areas within it. 500ft below ground and I could not even fathom being one of the first to go through the cave and map it out like they did. Watch out during bat season because they do hibernate in the cave. None were in the cave when we entered. Saw some salamanders and fish though. Waterfalls and natural stone structures were included.

I didn't fully know what to expect, but I'm glad I went. It was very adventurous, and I felt like I was in the Goonies. I wouldn't have made it without our guide who was a pro. I heard the youngest in our group who was 10 ( and a few others) scream several times" This is awesome!!!". I would wear old clothes including jeans( not shorts like I did) and get ready for fun, muddy, wet time. It was an adventurous your from beginning to end ( close to 5 hours).

Our tour guide, Wes, quickly assesses and gets to know who he is guiding and then bases the tour on their interests and abilities. We felt like our tour of the cave was unique to us, not a tour where everyone hears the same thing and follows the exact path for each adventure. We learned the history of the cave and area, saw wildlife and fossils, and had some amazing tunnel crawls!

Excellent experience that the family will remember forever. The tour exceeded my expectations by a mile. My family consisted of 4 children between ages of 5 and 16 and me and my wife. Wes was so genuine about his passion with the cave and took care of us so well, that felt like we were just a big family going trough the cave. Plain and simple if you are thinking about it just go and do it, I guaranteed you will not regret it. Make sure to go over his website so you know what to expect.

Best tour ever. Wes was a great guide, very knowledgeable friendly and fun. My three young children had the best time climbing crawling yelling and laughing. My wife and I had a great experience. The pictures don't do justice, it is fun and challenging at the same time. You will get wet and muddy.
