Surprised I have never visited here before. Wasn't aware of its existence. Son is an airplane buff and he loved it. Nice size museum, with numerous planes and helicopters. Good videos about Vietnam war and WWII throughout, and Tuskogee airmen exhibit. Several simulators to use...More

There are airplanes from several different eras. Hubby was glad to see an old link trainer that he used in his first aviation job. There are several simulators for everyone to try to fly. Very interesting displays.

My retired army husband and I enjoyed at least 2 hours here and it was very interesting and would recommend it to anyone with a military or flight interest. This is a good one and Barber Motorsports for sure.

We actually went with 4 young children because we'd heard they had a great play room. They were welcoming and so friendly. Our boys had a blast in the play room and we all enjoyed seeing the museum. We took a picnic and enjoyed lunch...More

This little gem is off the beaten track by the airport. While not being overly large it is very good. Many interesting displays of aircraft, engines, and artifacts and even a few basic simulators. Handicap accessible and worth a visit.

We always have fun when we visit the Southern Museum of Flight. We also get a membership every year and it puts you in an association that allows you to use the membership at other science museums. Great value!

We took a cub scout troop and the boys loved it. Very cool to be able to get close to things they usually dream about!

Check BirminghamGroupon. We had a party of 8 and was able to get 8 tickets @ $28.00. It averaged out to $3.50 a ticket. Groupon offered a discount on top of that. So for 8 admission around $25.00 which was a good deal.

Hi Matt You can walk the museum in about one hour but it depends on how a fan you are and if you are taking children My husband loves aviation so we spent more than two hours inside.

That exhibit is the Korean War Jets exhibit. The defecting pilot was Lt. No Kum Sok, know as Ken Rowe when he became an American citizen. Ken is 85 years old now. I talk with him several times a year.
