Lovely old Buddhist temple tucked about a 5-10 minute walk into the White Horse Temple grounds
Oct 2019
Skip the open plaza of the White Horse Temple, look up to locate the tower of the older Qiyun Tower, and head straight there for a lovely walk in quiet grounds.

Qiyun Tower - really a stunning piece of architecture, still in use for the worshiping. Loved this...

Part of the White Horse Temple Complex
Oct 2017 • Solo
You can only visit the tower when you visit the white horse temple, as it's all part of the same complex. The RMB35 entrance fee covers everything inside the very expansive temple area. The tower is spectacular, but you cannot go inside.

Ancient tower
Sep 2016 • Couples
Its located in the White Horse temple area. The temple is around 25 meters tall. It's worth seeing this tower to have an idea of the old architecture of the Han dynasty era.
A must see in Luoyang.

White Horse Temple's old pagoda
Jun 2016
Well worth the trip. The gardens of the temple are peaceful, the temple is in good shape, the new international temple section is an interesting place to visit and if you time it right you may be able to see monks going about their daily lives. June is harvest and you can help the farmers dry grain.

1st Pagoda in China
Oct 2014 • Solo
Set uo at 68 A.D ,in a short walk from white horse temple. A peaceful place and I think more interesting than white horse temple. Local people belive that there is a golden frog beneath the pagoda, they clap their hands 20 meter far from the pagoda and hear the frog sounds! I just heard my hand clap reverberation!

Tower with thousand years of history
Nov 2014 • Family
This place house the Buddhist scripts of thousand years ago. There are also alot of tools, wears, instruments etc which were very well preserved. It was really surprised to see how advance was the Chinese thousand years ago.

Pretty pagoda
Nov 2012 • Solo
Qi Yun Pagoda is definitely worth the five minute walk from White Horse Temple. The walk takes you through a garden and past the tomb of the original monks who came with the scriptures to China. The pagoda is quite uniquely shaped and quiet - the crowds don't seem to make it there. It is a very nice place to reflect and relax. It is included in the temple ticket.
