Lovely, well cared for, serine, interesting landscape, and well worth your time for a stroll on a leisurely afternoon.

During the Peony festival you can see the famous national flower, but there are nicer parks to visit during the holiday. During the rest of the year there are family activities and locals sit around, drink tea, play card games, sing and dance.

Every year of this month marks the most exciting festival in Luo Yang. Come and see the beauty of peony in most of the park, truly beautiful. There are so many types of peony in different size and color.
Bear in mind, it is yearly long waited festival, do expect the huge crowd in every tourist spots, but it is worth seeing.

As it is comparatively hotter this summer, the peony season go faster. When we went to Luoyang, it was a bit late, especially after some rain. Do check the official info on the website, available and updated.
Still, we saw a few peony flowers, the black, the pink, the red, the yellow, and most stunningly, the GREEN ones.
It is the first time for me to see the green peony. The buds are absolutely green. Then the peony opens, it slowly turns white. They are just gorgeous!

We went twice; in the morning and evening and didn't see anything happening. Guess we were unlucky. As it was autumn, there wasn't much in regard to gardens either, so we were pretty disappointed.

Visited the park at night and was full of things to see. There were groups of locals throughout the park doing numerous activities. Locals were ballroom dancing, fan dancing and singing. Children were learning Kung Fu, roller skating and crafts. Section of grass was for dogs to run around. Spent a few hours after dinner just walking around watching all the different groups. Cafe facing the park and bars facing the road.

It's all about the timing on this one. If your lucky enough to be in Luoyang in late March and April there are more varieties of peonies them you'll ever see. It's truly beautiful. Be aware that April 15 is wedding day for many Chinese couples, like hundreds...
