Now I may have this wrong but as far as I can see these three all link up, along with the bell tower gate at the West end. Near the centre of Luoyang are two “old streets”, “Market streets”, “pedestrian streets”, pick your name, they...More

It's necessary to walk the street if you want to see something beautiful in Luoyang. Compared to other parts of the city, the charm of Chinese street is fully spread. We had a soup, couple of sweets and bought some suveniers, enjoy it fully! Take...More

This is the old centre of Luoyang, but it's not entirely authentic. Regardless, it is older than most of the city, so it's somewhat deserving of it's title. Lots of restaurants, shops, etc etc, all the usual tourist stuff. Quaint but don't worry if you...More

The Luoyang Old Town consists of one monumental city gate, allegedly the oldest extant gate in China, as well as a single old street of weathered vernacular architecture in varying states of disrepair. We enjoyed a fresh pomegranate juice from a local vendor and many...More

Interesting stone streets, buildings in the ancient city. The vendors on street offer trinkets, and food. There are some high quality shops here and there. The street vendor food simply was everywhere with scorpions, etc. and stinky dough (which to me smells like raw sewage),...More

This place starts waking up mid afternoon, though a few shops may be open earlier. You can stroll through the streets and stores, or pay 30RMB to go on the wall, entrance is to the left of the gate. The night food street is worth...More

The best time to visit this place is in the evening. Full of lights and people. In the afternoon is a bit quiet. Full of culture, local cuisine, old buildings and souvenirs.

This is a typical 'old' Chinese street. Plenty of food and souvenir vendors. Sadly the shops and stalls are generally low quality, really struggled to find somewhere selling proper artisan stuff. Much of it is tat. Be with Elephant is a small shop selling original...More
