The Durian Space is a small secluded coffee shop set on the river side just a beautiful 20 minute walk from Yangshuo. A quiet relaxing place to escape Yangshuo and be surrounded by nature. The coffee Shop offers a Riverside Balcony with a beautiful view of the river and surrounding Carste Mountains, a small bamboo surrounded garden hidden under the lush tree canopy with BBQ area and a uniquely renovated building converted by an art based Architect. There are also steps leading down to the riverside for swimming in the summer. Serving a selection of specialty and espresso based coffee's prepared by a western barista, as well as fresh fruit Juices, Milkshakes and a selection of great home made snacks, sandwiches, Deserts and Pancakes A truly unique venue in a unique location.

Fantastic Inn!

My boyfriend and I stayed here sort of by accident- we were looking for a place to stay and just wandered in. Immediately we were greeted by the owner as well as several guests who asked if we were going to stay and seemed genuinely pleased to meet us. We couldn't pass it up, and checked in for two nights.

First, the basics- this place has a great location, just slightly outside of the busy city but very close to parts of the river that are good for swimming. You get FREE bicycle rentals so it's easy to use one ad explore all of Yangshuo, and you. An pay to use an electric scooter. There is always someone there who can help translate English to Chinese so no problems there. The lobby is clean and relaxing with a constant supply of local fruit and tea for guests, the rooms are clean, beautiful and air-conditioned and there are cooking facilities guests are welcome to use. Oh, and breakfast is included, though whether it's made by the owner or someone staying there volunteers to make it for everyone is always a surprise!

This place has a much different atmosphere than any other inn/hostel/guesthouse/hotel we have ever stayed at. Everyone spends time together and it is like one big family- we all took turns cooking for each other, and when the owner goes to open her Cafe for a few hours each day she makes delicious coffee for everyone, and you can go swimming at the river right on the spot. Plus the view is stunning!

The owner here really cares for the happiness and well-being of her guests, and it shows. This is seriously no ordinary guest house, and if you want the best experience Yangshuo had to offer, this is 100% the place to stay to get it!
