A Waste of Time and Money. Go elsewhere.

We visited this attraction because I had read somewhere that there was a butterfly garden in the park. NOT SO!!!!! THERE ARE NO REAL BUTTERFLIES ANYWHERE.

The cave is unimpressive and the rest of it is nothing but a tourist trap. There is some kind of show, but we didn't watch it.

Keep your money and buy food, or go to another attraction.

Good views but forgettable otherwise
Apr 2017 • Family
We went in April and it was part of a package tour covering Guilin and Yangshuo. Views were nice but probably wouldn't have visited if we were travelling on our own. The cultural show with the singing and dancing was just okay and not that interesting. As others have mentioned, there are no butterflies...

Good views but not good value for money! Tourist trap!

Whilst we enjoyed the views and scenery we found it too commercial for what it is.

We enjoyed the views from the wooden rope bridge.

There is a rock formation in the shape of a butterfly but we did not find it. We did however find one butterfly a cabbage white butterfly!

Beautiful views, cave terrible, no butterflies

We knew there weren't butterflies so weren't expecting them. The cave was interesting just from seeing such a different approach to home with regards to respecting nature (one entire cave had been painted). However once outside there cave there was a bit of a climb up to a gorgeous lookout. We finished with the slide down which saved walking the stairs but wasn't as much fun as it looked.

A perfect morning spot if you are staying in Yangshuo!

Amazing escape from the village yet will be enjoying the view of the mountains and the river. There's a pergola there where you can sit and read after a morning jog ;)

Nature, view and landscape top, the cave a flop
Aug 2015
Well you should know, that the cave you are passing through in the beginning of this round trip is just fake. My Chinese travel mates wouldn't have even noticed, so it probably works well for most of the people. The rest of the trip is quite nice, passing over a rope bridge and walking up a hill with nice views. The nature between the cone-shaped mountains is nice. At the end your have the chance to go down a slide. Beware! The corners are not banked, so you can easily bump you hips on the wall if your are sliding fast.

DON'T WASTE YOUR $$

this was a TOTAL WASTE OF Y45. i would ask for my money back, but as i don't speak chinese and wanted to enjoy the rest of my day, i just let this one go.

as someone had said before, this is a total tourist trap and after you take a photo from the parking lot of the giant fake butterfly on the hillside, move alongl, there is nothing else to see here.

i did not see one butterfly. i really don't even know what the point of this park was. you go into a series of caves with man-made embellishments inside then onto poorly maintained walkways through lots of over-growth and weeds. your short journey will culminate in a typically amateurish song and dance show that has no relevance to butterflies.

i probably spent a total of 15 minutes here. i only stayed for part of the culture show because i wanted to sit down in the shade. the staff looked totally bored. i don't even know why they require as many employees as they had. LAME.

Don't leave the carpark
Mar 2011
I have passed this attraction several times when travelling out to Moon Hill or Silver caves and was always fascinated by the giant butterfly on the side of one of the karst pinnacles. According to one website the butterfly model has an area of over 280 sq m. That was about the only believeable thing in all the hype. I finally checked out this attraction and as I approached the giant butterfly's faded paintwork I realised it may not live up to it's advertised expectations. For example, the "largest area for viewing living butterflies in China with millions of butterflies living here and getting along with people harmoniously" turned out to be a huge enclosure of weeds and run down paths with doors missing and not ONE butterfly! They are all, obviously, living 'harmoniously' elsewhere. The only butterflies in this park are the plastic encased ones or framed ones in the gift shop. This place is a rundown tourist trap. The swingbridge between two pinnacle does bring momentary excitment, as the loose, wooden panks seem to flex a bit too much as you try to cross. The view from the hill is also beautiful but more worth Y5 not the outragious Y60. There is a 'cultural' show - with no English commentary (to be expected) with the highlight being some guy seeing how long he can hold a note without breathing, and a bit of high spirited dancing from some of the performers. Others barely moved their feet off the ground. Overall, this is an attraction that simply must be missed. Don't be enticed by the big butterfly - just take a picture from the carpark and move right along.
