I really enjoyed the show...history of local culture - love story - lights. I paid lowest price for SUB VIP tickets......next price was Bamboo Zone and then President Zone....but all were a long way away from Lake .....I had a zoom on my camera and I was able to see what was going on by using it........so be careful about... The show itself is impressive. Beautifully choreographed; tale, music, dance, special effects, light show. Not something for young children though. Be prepared to walk to the viewing area. Different prices for different seating areas. Audio announcements aren't clear, and many viewers do not follow instructions.

This is a show that you and I may not be able to understand because it is in their local Chinese language but employing hundreds of actors doing great dances and excellent choreography in an open-air stage with the banks of the river as their stage speaks highly of how innovative and creative the director is. Don't forget to bring... More

It's a rather impressive show, with several hundreds of local people performing on the Li river, with nice lightshow. If you have limited time, this should be one of your evening activities. Try to get your tickets from a reliable source though, many scams and eaasy to get bad tickets. Most decent hotels should be able to help out with... More

Extremely well done show with eye popping visuals and amazing choreography. The music was excellent and its a beautiful tale. If you don't speak Chinese it helps to look the story up first. A minor annoyance is the slight chaos of getting tickets where you scrap in a crowd for them and have to follow numbered signs. If you just... More

This was an optional excursion on our 17 day tour of China and truly a unique experience. To see 600 performers in a choreographed show at night with boats and cormorants and dramatic lighting was a special treat. We sat in bleachers along the shore and watched the spectacle unfold before us. The lighting effects were quite beautiful. We had... More

This show is a true "spectacular" where they try to wow and surprise the audience. I'd say they succeeded. It was amusing to watch the Chinese audience members view the show through their cell phones and to have them leave during the last 5 minutes of the show, I assume to beat the crowds out of the stadium. Our guide... More

The number of people participating in the show is impressive. The level of "acting" less impressive, my kids of 4 and 6 loved it with so many people, lights, boats and even a cow! If you have never seen a show like this go and enjoy, outdoor theater with the karst as a backdrop.

From the insanely confusing ticket-getting process to the audience loudly talking for the duration of the show, to the raindrops inspiring thousands of people to simultaneously don the provided loudly crinkling plastic ponchos... not quite the experience I expected. I suspect the show would have been more impressive visually from a higher position in the stands (pricier) seat than the... More
