We saw the show on a rainy night in November and purchased the 2nd highest class of ticket. This afforded us a covered view of the show and they gave all the adults big winter coats that we could spread on top of us while we sat or wear outright. We had kids with us so they sat on our... More

With a cast of at least 200 people with the Li River as the stage, set against the backdrop of the hills of Yangshou, this show is awesome! You don't really need to understand Chinese Mandarin to appreciate this show. However, be aware that half the population of China is there to watch the show night - so, be warned.

We were so exciting attending this show, as we heard and read great things about it. But first, getting ticket is chaotic as you can not get your tickets right away, but instead, need to gather around a booth in the middle of the crowd, then follow someone who keep you waiting, then finally getting your tickets. Then the "show":... More

Kept trying to take pictures but they did not do it justice. Just sit back and enjoy it ! Be patient with the mass of humanity that shuffles in. the show is worth it!

This is a classic tourist attraction: controlled chaos getting to, into and out of the amphitheater, with mobs of people. But the actual production setting and performance are striking, and the production was imaginative and well-executed. There is a story line, of sorts, but it's all in Mandarin so we just had to guess along. And don't expect people to... More

If you are a fan of the Director extraordinaire, Zhang Yimou, then, you would be accustomed to his work, that's always verging on an epic scale. If you have seen the Olympics opening ceremony before, then, you would be familiar with his signature style. He's been invited to choreograph the Olympic performance after the Committee has seen Impression Sanjie Liu.... More

Very impressive light/sound spectacle, directed by the famous Zhang Yimou. Great location among classic Yangshuo landscapes. A bit too over the top at times. But well worth it!

Only in China (or perhaps N Korea!( would you find choreography on this scale. Use of the natural karst as a backdrop makes this a unique theatrical experience. Just one warning if you haven't been to a similar Chinese show. Everyone talks throughout- to each other, on their phones..... You just have to accept it and go with the flow... More

This was a surreal experience; a light show encompassing hundreds of locals with the mountains as an amazing backdrop. We loved every moment. Our hotel organised the tickets and arranged our transport. This made the whole process smooth as. It's quite a saga to get from the entrance of the light show to you seats so suggest this hand holding... More

The hotel booked the tickets for us, it is a local ancient Chinese love story, it worth to watch, but the road to there was not good.
