Qishi City Park A love of History
Sep 2013
Qishi City Park is a place that you can see first hand the history of yesterday and the history that is being made today. When you first get there you will think they are just polished rock and they very much are. They come in different sizes and shapes, small and large. Some are free standing and some are on stands. Out side of each building you will see piles of rock and wonder what you are doing there but when you explore deeper into the different buildings you will see that these rock become polished. The true rocks that I wanted to buy and did and are worth very much money because they are polished by hand from the beginning after they chisel away what they do not want and then the real work begins and that is to polish each rock by hand until it has the most beautiful colors in it. Reds, Whites, Browns, Blues, it there is a color it can be found in these stones and when they are finished being polished words are not good enough for them. These polished stones are very much a very well demanded item in the country and sell for much money not only there but anywhere in the world. Now me I had to go with a smaller stone but it was a hand polished stone and worth giving up the size for a stone that was done with power equipment. It is very smooth and displays an array of colors that is natural to the rocks in the area. And no they just do not go out and pick up a rock and use it they study the stone and vision what it will look like when it is complete. These stones are sold for a premium price on the east coast of China and for good reason. It is the only place that a person can get one. And they sell for enough money to last them for some time to live on. And to watch them work on these stones and the time that it takes to make one is very much breath taking because it does not seem like in three hours that they have done a thing but if you come back a week later you can see that they have done a few inches of the stone but not to it's finished stage because that comes much later as they complete the stone. If you wish to see them do a large stone well be ready to go back in 6 months and they will still be working on the same stone. I think you would need a two or three year visa to see one from start to finish and that is for a large one with so many wonderful colors all over the stone some of the lines of color will go all the way through the stone. Yes if you are in Liuzhou this is worth seeing and buying a stone of any kind and they also make wonderful gifts as well. You can buy small stones as well so do not be scared to look at the prices of them and don't miss out on the history of many years that has been passed from many generations of family.

Stone collections from Liujiang River
Oct 2012 • Friends
It's a local stone market. Liuzhou city is also famous for its bizarre stones collected from the local largest river, Liujiang River. You'll have fun there to see many stones with strange shape, mimic animals or some other stuffs. If you have enough time, I will recommend you to walk alone the Liujiang River near this market. Maybe you will find some valuable stones that would be sold in a good price.

Amazing insight into some of Asia's strangest collectibles

I like some of these viewing stones even more that I like bonsai, and the viewing stone market in Luizhou is a great place to see them. Most years there is an international stone festival held here.
The market is interesting to wander around for half an hour but i was particularly impressed by one gallery at the front, where they had some really beautiful examples at crazy prices. "Gao Jian Shang Shi Hui Sho ([tel] 13978067895"
