It was worth the effort to visit this tomb, though it is not like those big and extravagant emperor tombs elsewhere in China. The wall paintings in the tomb depict people's daily life. It is said that over 1,400 such tombs which can be dated back at least 1,600 years ago were discovered in the area and many of those have not been excavated, only this tomb is open to visitors so far. The tomb is quite small and each time it can only accommodate a dozen people. To protect the wall paintings, visitors need to take turns to enter the tomb for a limited time as the tomb staff said a large group of people in the tomb may stimulate up the temperature! Photo shooting is strictly forbidden. The tomb museum displays an excavated coffin which has some paintings on it. If you like history and relics, this tomb visit is your cup of tea!

From Chiayuguannan Station, we took a taxi to the First Shrine of the Great Wall, the Mural Tomb of Wei Jin, Chiayu Pass, and the Walled Wall. The least crowded of these, eh?! You're not in a place like this? It’s a place I’d love to see, but I visited with a friend because I’ve seen it before at the Gansu Provincial Museum in Lanzhou, so I wanted to see it very much!
First we look at the museum (it's small) opposite the ticket office. Here you can find replicas and photos that you can take.
Then we drove to a building in the vast grounds. Through a door opened by the attendant's uncle, you enter the mural grave through a ramp. The inside is small and divided into three rooms. I can't get enough of looking at the picture with taste. I think it is very well preserved because of the dryness and the lack of sunlight and the inability to take photographs.
It is said that there are more than 1,000 graves around, but excavations seem to have been slow. I hope others will do their best to excavate it. There are no souvenir shops, so I bought picture postcards and pins at Jiayu Pass. The famous picture of a man on a horse, which appears on a postage stamp, was interesting.

This is the only tomb in this burial ground of 3° century a.d. which is open for visitors
The visit is only for 7 persons at a time as this 3 chambers tomb is very small . It is really interesting especially for the thousands of painted tiles which line the walls .They depict scenes of the every day life of that time of the merchant who occupied this tomb .
Unfortunately pictures are forbidden and I have respected this rule !

A wide field near the Kakei (Yamahen Valley) barrier. It's a place you'd think there wouldn't be any tourist attractions. There is a diagonal passageway leading to the basement, under which an otherworldly space spreads. No, it is a space that consists of three basements of about 4.5 tatami mats connected to each other, but there are many bricks with colorful pictures on the walls of the stone chamber, which is stacked with stones like square bricks. The first room depicts the lives of the people in the surrounding area at that time. Livestock such as cattle and sheep, scenes of slaughter of pigs, and agricultural scenes. The second room depicts the intimate life of the buried couple (presumably high-ranking officials assigned to the area). It seems that Mitsumurome had a coffin for the couple. It seems that burial goods and other items have almost been looted, but great treasures have been left behind.
It seems that there are still many unexplored graves left around. There were no other tourists at all, but the ruins are well worth the crowds. I can't physically get in.
Filming is prohibited here, but you can take a closer look at a replica of this graveyard's heki at the Gansu Provincial Museum in Lanzhou
