This Canyon is the most beautiful part of the mountain, in my opinion. Many one-days group travelers would not have the time to visit this Canyon, so it is also less crowded part of the scenic area. We stayed in Xihai hotel, therefore, we went to the Xihai Great Canyon after we loaded off our bags and later in the... More

Walking downstairs for looong time, your legs will feel it. Surrounding is ok, but there were too many people in 1st half of trail. Then took cablecar back to top (100rmb). Be careful, service can be suspended when bad weather! And again many people waiting for the same.

Takes about 4 hrs. Great views. Even on a weekday it was quite busy. We hiked to the bottom and took the cable car up (100 RMB/pp). My legs (thighs and calves) were sore the next 2 days.

Get your knee & camera ready, fun ahead but comes at an effort. Love the top view from northern end near cable car station.

This is the part you should do early when you still have the energy. It is steep but Not dangerous and the scenery is stunning.

Started off the route from Paiyun (排云亭) and that is the way to go as it is all the way downwards. It gets really steep at various locations, unless u are vertical challenge junkie, there is no reason why u want to attempt to climb upwards. It took me nearly 2 hours for the downward trail towards the rail.

Tremendous scenery and more limited crowds made this section the best! Be prepared for tons of steps, heights, and some narrow steep sections. However, a great option was starting at the top and hiking down to the funicular towards the bottom. Would not have wanted to come back up under my own steam.

One of the newly developed scenery route. Very strenuous hiking, definiely not recommended if you don't have top physique or have bad knees. But if you do go, the view is absolutely stunning and well worth the effort.

Takes about 3 hrs to complete the entire course down the canyon but its definitely worth it. Spectacular views at different parts of the canyon and you will keep stopping for photos. Some parts are pretty steep and definitely not for the faint hearted. There is a telpher to bring you up from the canyon but do take note that... More
