I contacted Connie to help me arrange a special private wine tour for my friend's birthday. Connie was incredible! She responded immediately saying she was happy to accommodate us and within 24 hours had sent over a personalized itinerary that was exactly based on the information I'd given her. She communicated efficiently when I or she needed to make adjustments and was very on top of every detail. Even the day of, when we added another friend last minute, no one seemed fazed a fifth setting was already prepared at each stop without hassle.
We did tastings at three high-end wineries (Ventisquero, Clos Apalta, and Neyen) and lunch at Fuegos de Apalta, all of which was wonderful. But what really set Connie and Francisco apart was their attention to detail and their willingness to adapt to our needs to make the day the best it could be. Their customer service was just incredible, down to providing bottled waters for us in the van and even gifting my friend a bottle of rosé for her birthday!
I would highly highly recommend booking your experience with Connie and Francisco, whatever kind of tour you are looking to find! :)

First of all, it is great to have the opportunity to be able to have a knowledgeable person take you on a wine journey in a new place where you don’t really know where to go. A guide can give you insight and is knowledgeable as to how to best set up an itinerary that works with your time needs and tastes.

Then there is your guide per se. In our case Jose was absolutely awesome. Jose describes himself as a wine geek, but he is more than that. He is attentive, funny, knowledgeable and has good taste. Quick with a joke, easy going, he was all over our tour with insight and humor.

Like all wine tours there is a little bit of a dance at the beginning. Your guide is feeling out how much you know (do you want to geek out about wine and live in the details, or are you more easygoing and want to view the scenery). Jose let us do some of the talking, listened and opened up to just what we wanted. We talked wine, food, his experience and background in culinary science, and his studies as a sommelier. (Level 2 at the time of this visit but something tells me he will go further.)

We went to three Wineries. At the wineries you take the tour provided by the winery. All three had their appeal and we sat down and debated each one after the fact. It was great to have the insight of not just a local wine geek, but to be able to bounce ideas and thoughts as to cuisine, the wine industry, general gastronomy and tourism in the context of a wine tour.

A couple of extra things. Jose was awesome at keeping us on track in regard to time. This is because all the timing has been set to make sure you do t miss anything. This is very true as to keeping the lunch reservation time which was spectacular. Don’t diverge if you want to have this wonderful lunch as apparently some couples that were late (and didn’t have the wise services of Jose) were left outside waiting to get in. I’m sure they were salivating and very jealous at all who did get in.

At the end of the day, a curated wine tour is about the experience of being able to try interesting things that you would struggle to be able to put together. You are provided with good insight and a perspective that makes you think and teaches you something. And you don’t have to be the one driving yourself around which is less than ideal when tasting wine.

You are going to be joined likely by other people that have also signed up for the tasting. But the groups are small and it gives you the chance to make friends. I mean if you don’t want to make friends while drinking wine…… there there is something wrong with you, but that is just my humble opinion.

You will be in wonderful hands with Connie and Francisco planning your tour, and if Jose happens to be your driver, don’t hesitate to talk to him about food, wine, travel, and geek out on wine and all that the area has to offer. He will also keep you from paying too much for any of the wine and will be one of those folks you remember because he was just that cool.

This was one of the best tour companies we have ever used. From the beginning of the planning process with Connie through the end of the tour, it was a great experience. Connie was very responsive to customizing our Colchagua Valley wine tour to our preferences. She was able to plan an itinerary balancing well known wineries with smaller producers, and took into account both the leisurely pace we wanted and our food preferences. She was proactive with communicating and checking in with us before the tour to keep us updated on timing, itinerary, etc. On the day of the tour, Jose picked us up from the hotel and we immediately hit it off. He struck the right balance between guiding us and our having free time at each winery we visited. It was such an easy process throughout we didn't really have to think about a thing. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone visiting the Colchagua Valley.

We booked Colchagua Wine Tours for a 4 day tour through Colchagua Valley and had an amazing experience. It was the first time we had booked such a tour and had only done random tastings in the past. This was a completely different and wonderful experience.

Francisco and Connie are lovely, fun, and gracious and along with their equally fabulous employee (and chef and sommelier!) Jose, we spent our days exploring vineyards and learning about the characteristics of the location that makes for such delicious wines. Each afternoon we dined at restaurants that seems plucked out of Food and Wine magazine, but without any pretensions. They were all delicious and made for such relaxing breaks during the afternoon.

We cannot recommend Colchagua Wine Tours enough. They were tremendous and professional.....judging by the other reviews, they make everyone feel special...and we were no exception.

thank you Connie, Francisco, and Jose.

Connie and her husband Francisco were absolutely incredibly. They were so responsive when we had questions, and helpful with any issues we had during planning as well as during our actual trip. The itinerary that they put together for us for 2 days in Santa Cruz was perfectly executed, with transfers available at all points, and four perfect vineyards for both tours and tastings. Someone from the team was always there to great us, even at our hotel when we were checking out and leaving Santa Cruz, making the experience so personal. They even helped make our lunch and dinner reservations in town. If you go to Santa Cruz, you have to use Colchagua Wine Tours with Connie and Francisco!

I was blown away by the service provided by Colchagua Wine Tours. I initially booked them just for airport transfer from Santiago to Santa Cruz wine region, and we ended up using them to plan our entire 3-day wine region itinerary. Connie was INCREDIBLE - so responsive and made our trip so easy. We loved each vineyard and lunch they planned for us. At each stop, there was a representative from Colchagua Wine Tours at the destination to make sure we were all set for our tours/meals. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend. Worth the price.

Having been on many different wine tours in different parts of the world on previous trips, this was one of the very best and we would not hesitate to recommend it. Francisco is a superb guide- knowledgeable, interesting, entertaining and friendly. The choice of wineries and the restaurant for lunch were all superb. The tour was very well organised- we were given plenty of information and reminders in advance, and the pace of the day and the timings worked very well. Connie and Francisco were unbelievably helpful and really went above and beyond- they were happy to recommend and help us arrange activities for our other days in Santa Cruz and arranged the return to me in Santiago of an item that was lost during the Tour. We will definitely return to Santa Cruz, and when we do a Colchagua Wine Tour will be the first thing that we arrange.

Connie (U.S.-born) and her husband Francisco (Chilean-born) run a very professional tour business, ColchaguaTours.com. I contacted five wine tour operators in the Colchagua area to book a day of wine tours for my wife and I and they were not only the only operator to respond but they also were fluent in English and very knowledgeable about the wineries in the area.

Francisco was our driver, guide, and interpreter. He was not only able to get us into extraordinary wineries for unique tastings, he could have gotten us into others at short notice due to his and Connie's relationships. This is exceptional valuable given the impact COVID-19 has had on wine tours everywhere, especially biodynamic (limited) and organic (unavailable) wineries.

Final note: We could have spent at least another day in the area to see the Santa Cruz Museum, which is adjacent to the casino, it comprises four buildings, is considered the best museum in Chile, and is owned by the same owner as the casino; and to visit more wineries. If you visit Colchagua I recommend the La Perla hotel, having a meal in downtown Santa Cruz, as well as having a meal at Montes winery.

This was my third bike and wine trip with Francisco and Connie because they always provide us with a great experience. They organized a tour with bikes to a few vineyards and then drove us partway and we biked the rest to Pichilemu. Connie did all the leg work on preparing the itinerary and emailing for weeks beforehand. Francisco was a wonderful guide for the day, he even hopped on a bike and road with one of us part of the way when we needed motivation! They were flexible with us throughout the day and took care of our every need. They had water and gatorade and booked our meals and wine tastings, all we had to do was show up. The cost of the tour was incredible for the amount of work and thought they put into everything. I would highly recommend booking with Colchagua Wine Tour's!

We spent 3 days in the Colchagua Valley as part of a 17 day trip to Chile, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Connie listened to our requests and planned an itinerary with unique and interesting wineries. Each one focused on a different part of the wine making process, and the tastings were casual and informative. Of course, the wines were AMAZING. Meals were wonderful too. Colchagua Wine Tours obviously has great relationships with the wineries, as we made changes during our time there, and all were super accommodating. The days were planned at a nice pace. Our driver was professional, prompt, courteous, and is a new friend that we hope to see on future trips to Chile. If you appreciate wine, and want to spend time in the Colchagua Valley, there cannot be any better way than with Colchagua Wine Tours. Connie and her team are fantastic.
