To reach the lake, one has to drive about 30 km of dirt road full of pot holes that takes more than 45 minutes. If you have limited time in the Atacama, better to give it a miss unless it is part of your bus tour, Even then, not much to see. Washrooms were clean!

I liked it very much. Its not my # 1 in Atacama, but its great.

This visit is included in the the tour called "Laguna Cejar"

Its starts at 4 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Its costs us$15 + us$8 for the tickets to the national parks.

The first spot you visit is Laguna Cejar where you go to swim. The water is very salty, more than in the Dead Sea. Because of this you float easily in the water. Very cool.

After that they take you to the Ojos de Atacama. 2 hig holes of 20 mts of diameter in the middle of the desert. If you have been in Mexico, they are open cenotes. You can swim there too.

At the end of the tour they get you to Laguna Tebinquinche.

This lagoon its half dry and you can walk over a thick crust of salt. Views are great. Colours are beatiful and the mirror effect its outstanding.

There you wait for sunset enjoying a simple cocktail with a fresh Pisco Sour.

I did it with Altiplano Aventura agency. The guide Arturo and his wife were great!!

If you dont take and agency and you rent a car you can do it by yourself.

I loved this tour. The laguna was almost white because of the high concentration of salt and evaporation which makes the view quite impressive because of the mix of colours. Add do that the view of the Licancabur Volcano. We were not luck to see the sunset at this place but I bet it must be wonderful.

We stopped at end of excursion after visiting cejar lagoon and ojos lagoons. Didn't really need to see yet another lagoon. We had seen enough at prior stops.

There's a beautiful sunset, at one of the most breathtaking sights in Atacama. Usually visited on a day trip starting at Laguna Cejar, then Ojos del Salar and ending at the Tebenquinche.

This trip is amazing! Yes, it´s done in quite large groups and there are lots of other vans there, but it hardly spoils the moment! First we went to a salt lagoon where we could bath. I have always wanted to try it and that´s veeeery cool! People float! There´s a hot spring bellow, but I was told the salt doesn´t allow the flows to mix so it´s cold on the surface and warm by your knees and down. Yes, the water is cold and it requires a little bravery to face it (my husband decided he´ll wait until we´ve got a chance to go to the Dead Sea to try it...haha). There are booths for changing and showers to clean the salt (it´s actually harder to get into the freezing shower...)
Then we pass by Ojos del Salar, which are ok, take a feel pictures. People can also dive here. Finally we went to Tebinquinche! We got to see the mountains reflecting on the lagoon and all the color changing until senset. The guide prepares a exquisit pisco sour and some snacks...show! Cheap, close to SPA and absolutely stunning!

Cool views, but no shade available, and you can't get very close to the water, so for us, it was good for about 20 min of looking at the reflection of the mountains on the lake, and then we moved on.

In the middle of no where they found those unique lagoons. Can’t be compared to any thing you have seen before. A must go.

Beautiful lake close to Salar De Atacama. Many kinds of birds here and you'll be lucky to see flamingos. Definitely worth the visit!

I would recommend visiting in the first half of the day if possible as the second half of the day is when all the guided tours and tour buses come over. We went around 11am and had the entire area to ourselves which is quite cool.

The lake is very scenic with it’s still blue waters and volcanos in the background. Makes for a very beautiful photograph.

We were not lucky enough to spot any flamingos.
