This was another area that impressed us a great deal, with its unusual rocks and landscape. The drive here also offered gorgeous views of mountains and other terrain.

Its like going back in time. The first part you will meet The Monk, a huge rock with the face of a monk, then you'll travel through the desert to the Salar de Tara, an unique salt lake. Highly recommended.

We were not able to get there once there was a strong wind in the region. Our guide said to us that when the wind is too strong it is safety to go with a 4x4 car.

Its lots of driving so it can be a long (but very entertaining ) day. Very little walking involved - its more a wander than a walk! I completely recommend it and the places you go to are jaw dropping. Enjoy!
