The fort was closed due to Covid-19.
But we could see it from outside and the view of La Serena from here is amazing. We could see also a galleon that makes a tour of the bay.

The fort itself isn't much. It's just a few short stone "towers" (I don't know what to really call them) that you can go on and there is a cannon. There are beautiful views from the area which is why I gave it a good rating. I dont know if they are always there or if it's because of the season but there was a large rock with loads of seals (maybe they were sea lions?) on it and loads of birds which were fun to watch. Overall it was a cool area with gorgeous views.

I came across this place by accident. For me, that adds to the attraction. I did enjoy the photo op's that visiting here did offer. There were some nice shots of the ocean, fort and Coast looking out tward La Serena, Chile. If you have a rental car this should be an easy stop, however I took the bus from La Serena to Coquimbo and the bus took me to the turn off to the fort. It was the start of a good outing.

One of the few tourist places in Coquimbo and is horrible, insecure, stench, unarmed... In general ugly, when it could be a good place to walk.
Rebuilt 20 years ago, it is already necessary to fix.

Sorry but there is not much of a fort really...some stone walls and a cannon. There are some interesting rock formations and desert plantings and there was a guy dressed up as a pirate to provide some historical commentary but really - 20 minutes and you're done. Could have skipped it.

Across from La Serena and the end of the point is Fuerte Lambert - an old fort. No entrance fee to enter but you do get spectacular views. Lots of birds and a few seals frequent this area. A peaceful hour not to be missed!

Such a lovely place to take pictures or to simply enjoy the view. Entry is free so it can be very crowded.

Mystical place that connects the ancient history of Coquimbo with reality. It has canyons and buildings that were used to defend the place of the attack of the pirates.
