This is something you have to do while in Battambang even if it's only once but with a bit of background knowledge it makes it a worthwhile experience. It cost 5 dollars and make sure that your notes are of a reasonable standard or else...More

It was quite an interesting ride but I think a bit overpriced especially when we had 5 of us squeezed onto 1 train (US$5×5).

Hurtling along bent rails; dodgy joins; bone rattling ride; jumping off and dismantling to pass approaching cars - just about sums it up. As a one off experience it was worthwhile. Novelty wears off after about 15 min.

Really funny and unique experience, expect to get shaken around a bit but it's all part of the fun. You ride on it for about 15-20 mins and stop at a little village where children and locals try to sell you stuff. After a 10...More

Grab a little piece of local history by paying $5pp ($10 per train). Careful not to be overcharged on a day the local police aren't there. Make sure you have some extra spare change to tip your driver & $1 for a coconut drink at...More

Good experience. Once is enough though as it's a bit bouncy and you get pestered at the other end to buy the usual tourist crap. But I would recommend it for anyone in Battambang as it's good fun aswell as a little scary!

Totally worth it. Was a little bit scary at the beginning but then you just get used it and enjoy the flow. Be aware the driver might ask you for an additional tip at the end+ kids asking for a change at the other end

The bamboo train is very enjoyable and a worthy visit. The train is not exactly a train just a platform on wheels but it is safe. When you are riding it is very loud but is handled unless you have very sensitive hearing. When you...More

Its worthwhile and so much fun. The railroad was built by the French and opened in 1927. The Bamboo train was sent along the track before a train was supposed to come through to check that the tracks were clear. The current trains are still...More

Wheels, cart platform with engine, track. It's not even as complicated as I had expected! The track is pretty exposed; wear your sunscreen etc. A couple spots have close-hanging foliage, so watch out or stay more "inside." You'll be getting off a lot in one...More
