What a blast! Toot is a strict teacher making sure everyone has a go at everything. There's no hiding at the back in his classroom. The class started with a trip to the market down the road to buy the fresh ingredients and then it was down to it. A 3 course meal I'd happily make and eat again and again. Which I can because we've been given the recipes to takeaway. Thoroughly recommend. 5 stars from me.

So glad I took the class!
Cooking class absolutely a highlight in Battambang! Mister Toot and his team are wonderful...and tough teachers (chop chop chop small small chop chop chop!). Well organised with all supplies, preparation and final cooking. A lot of fun, very useful lesson and great food! Added bonus to receive the recipes. Hope to do it again next time I am in town.

    An amazing cooking class!
My partner and I enjoyed a fantastic cooking class with Toot. We made spring rolls, fish amok, tofu/beef loklak and a banana & coconut dessert. Everything was delicious! Toot was an excellent host and made us laugh throughout the course. Any dish can be altered to suit allergies and there are veggie and vegan options available too. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Battambang!

    Great Fun with Chef Toot
My wife would say that I am in the ‘can’t cook, won’t cook’ category and at home I am not allowed in the kitchen. With that background I was cajoled to signup for the cooking class and have to say it was great fun. The visit to the local market to buy the food was an experience in itself and almost enough to put anyone off food for life in seeing what was available to buy. Chef Toot gives a great cooking class and it was a highly enjoyable 3.5 hours and also a great opportunity to share travelling knowledge and stories with the other guests taking part.

    Nary Cooking Class
Our Chef Toot provided an excellent, intimate cooking class in his kitchen and classroom. Instructions were given quickly and efficiently and repeated enough times so that they were clear. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed this class and would recommend it! Great price too!

    MUST DO EXPERIENCE!!!
This is a must do experience if in Battambang! It's some of the best food and one of the best experiences I've had whilst traveling for the past 10 months! Toot and Nary are both very friendly, attentive and great teachers. The class felt like a VIP experience due to the small class size. We asked and they said classes are usually 2 - 5 people but can cater for larger groups for example 20 (larger groups get more teachers as well). The price is also very good, for everything you get with it. Cost us $15 each which for a trip to the market and the 4 dishes is a great deal. Best of all they send you the recipes on WhatsApp after.

    The Cambodian Gordon Ramsay
A must do experience in Cambodia, we saw this cooking class online and chose to come to Battambang to try it out and boy are we glad we did!!! Nary and Toot’s cooking class is AMAZING. We had the pleasure of a 2 person class with Toot as our chef ( a real VIP experience), in the 3 hours we went to the market to get our ingredients and then cooked 4 local Cambodian dishes, including a dessert, which we then enjoyed in the end sat down in the restaurant totalling 4 hours spent at the class! Classes are typically 2-5 people but they can cater for bigger travel groups and provide more chefs in this time. We have previously experience a bigger cooking class with only one cook elsewhere w which made the experience a bit tricky, so to then experience a class of just myself and my partner and our own chef… it felt really special. The food you make tastes BRILLIANT. And you even get a recipe book at the end! I would recommend over and over again!!

    Cooking Class
Nary’s Kitchen cooking class was an amazing experience. Toot and his wife Nary run a clean and cheerful restaurant. Toot showed us around the food markets explaining the different ingredients and what they are used for. When it came to the cooking Toot was very accommodating of all food allergies and requirements - altering the menu when needed. I highly recommend this cooking class! Thank you Toot and Nary for the wonderful food and experience.

One of our best experiences in Battambang. The cooking class offered by this family run restaurant was very informative, fun, and the food was delicious. Toot was incredibly welcoming and very funny - can strongly recommend his class.

The cooking class was a lovely experience. Shopping at the market was quite nice because you could learn a few things. Not interesting for some but we were able to watch how fresh coconut milk was produced and then used it later for cooking.
Toot explained everything very well and was able to teach us a few new things. He was very accommodating to requests such as no fish or veggies. We were a relaxed group of 5 participants, the price/performance ratio was perfect

We came to Nary Kitchen for lunch on our first day in Battambang which is how we discovered they do cooking classes too! We booked for our last day in the city and it was the perfect way to spend the last few days in Cambodia. We began by going to the market to getting some fresh produce. We started our cooking by making spring rolls and rolling them up which was fun, the grating was tedious but the outcome was good. Next we made Fish Amok, and it was really cool to learn how to make the banana leaf bowl. After that we made Loklak which is a favourite of mine. Lastly we finished with a tapioca banana dish which was superb. We were able to eat it all together as a cooking group and chat which was a nice final touch. Toot, Nari and the other two men were really great and helpful. Definitely reccomend!

If you are looking for an unforgettable experience in Battambang, then you should do the cooking course at Nary’s Kitchen.

Toot and Nary were both so friendly and warm. The tour started with a trip to the local market with Toot and Nary’s son. It was exciting to go around the market with real purpose.

We then proceeded to the very well set up kitchen to learn how to make four Cambodian dishes. The kitchen was incredibly clean and the produce we were using was clearly kept in sanitary conditions.

We then got to eat the food that we made and it was a real feast. It was a struggle to eat everything and we both have big appetites. For the price that we paid, and the clear quality of the raw ingredients, we both felt that we had got incredible value for our money.

We did the course alongside a French family. Toot led the course for them in French whilst Nary led the course for us in English.

Thank you Toot and Nary for the experience.

What a beautiful place to be. Nary and Tuut really know what they're talking about and their cooking class is so inspiring. We made 4 Khmer dishes - all vegan - springrolls, Tofu Amok, Mushroom Lok Lak and Banana Tapioka Pudding. Really cool... First they took us to the market to buy our fresh ingredients and then we started the big show. We had to do everything ourselves and got all support we needed hands on. Cooking class took us about 2hrs, incl shopping. Afterwards we enjoyed all of our homemade food, which was one of the best Khmer dishes we had so far while touring Cambodia. Highly recommend taking a daily class here.

Very nice experience!
Nary and Toot are a very nice couple.

We first went to dinner to Nary restaurant and there I ate the best pineapple red curry of my whole Cambodian trip.

The next day we took a cooking class and it was so nice. Toot was the cooking teacher and we enjoyed ourselves making 5 Cambodian meals. Afterwards you can eat your meals for lunch.

I thank Nary and Toot for the best cooking class and restaurant.

This cooking class is the best value for money - I have recommended to two other people I have met going to Battambang. We began with a trip to the market to buy ingredients (great experience) and then made a 4 course meal. The 4 course meal was value for money enough, let alone being taken around the market and shown how to cook for a couple of hours. Incredible experience and a must do if in Battambang

We knew that we were going to arrive in Battambang in the evening, so we checked Nary's website beforehand, where it was clearly stated that they "serve continuously until late at night (22h00 or later...)" We got there at about 8 pm, planning to have dinner and book a cooking course for the next morning, but got turned away since they were already closing. We then walked over to Coconut Lily next door, where they happily served us and we booked our course for the next morning. If Nary's doesn't even bother to keep the business hours on their website remotely correct, it's no surprise to me they are losing business to other cooking classes, what the chef seems to be mad about according to other reviews.
