Overview
Leave the bustling city of Yangon behind and travel to the city of Bago for a day trip. The city is filled with stunning pagodas that your guide can explain more about as you explore. Learn about silent monks, see a reclining Buddha, and admire the large 4-sided Buddha that stands at a whopping 92 feet (28 meters). Hotel pickup and drop-off within Yangon is included.

We have been onboard Mergui Princess the last week of december, its impossible to describe how relaxing and funny it was, the crew did always the best to make we happy and comfortable, our cruise guide was very kind and experienced (A.K.). We did snorkeling, kayaking, trekking on desert islands and obviously sunbathing on the most beautifull beaches I've ever been to. Birdwatching beautifull hornbills, sailing with dolphins, kayaking into the mangroves, diving with colorfull fishes into big coral mushrooms, meeting local fishermans and see gipsyes in their villages.... amazing. The food onboard was awesome, the boat was not a piece of modern engineering but was safe and clean, we didn't experience any trouble at sea, always had lighting, ac power and air conditioning available. Even if it was not necessary because of warm climate, just in case of a rainy day, hot water in the shower would be appreciated, so my suggestion is to install a thermo boiler heated by diesel engine or ac power. People used to sailboat cruises will be super happy with sleeping accomodation and bathrooms, others need to get used to it, because its not a 5 star hotel or a luxury yacht, so prepare to a little sacrifice to gain access to magnificent places and the possibility to have a look into the lifes of the inhabitants of this paradise on hearth. To be repeated in the northern islands.

We had the pleasure of booking a 6 day cruise on the Mergui Princess. It was nothing short of heavenly. The crew has been amazing all the time in taking care of us, showing us the best snorkeling spots and beaches and we always felt safe and pampered. The boat is comfortable and equipped with everything necessary. The food was consistently delicious and we did not eat a single dish twice. The area is wonderful with many pristine white beaches with the clearest water I have ever seen. We saw only two tourist boats in 6 days. Whole heartedly recommended.

We enjoyed a four-night trip around the Mergui Archipelago, and were pleasantly surprised to find that we had the whole boat to ourselves. The crew of five were all kind and welcoming, accompanying us on snorkelling trips and pointing out the various amazing fish we saw, but also giving us space if we wanted to visit a beach on our own for a while. We visited a number of untouched tropical beaches / islands, with cool white sand and crystal clear bright blue waters, as well as kayaking through mangrove swamps, and landing at a couple of small fishing villages. We benefitted from good weather throughout, except for the last two hours or so of our return to Kawthaung: our guide Sithu kindly arranged our exit stamps such that we did not even have to set foot on the rather wet pier before being transferred straight to another boat for our crossing to Thailand. The food on board, prepared expertly by chef Myo, was a highlight of the trip. The quantities were enormous (typically three large meat / fish dishes, plus rice, veg and fresh fruit for every meal), but the crew did not seem to mind we were unable to finish it all! All the flavours were great, and the food fresh and local. Accommodation on the boat was comfortable, if a little basic: we thought it might feel a bit cramped if all six guest berths were filled. The (cold) freshwater showers meant we could clean off the salt each day, and the “help yourself” fridge meant we could help ourselves to hot and cold soft drinks and fresh fruit whenever we wanted (all included). We had stocked up on some harder drinks before leaving the mainland, which meant we could sit on deck each evening watching the sun set over a different tropical island, cold G&T in hand: bliss! All in all, it was a great way to end our trip to Myanmar, and an experience we’d highly recommend.

We booked a 5 night / 6 day tour around the Mergui and Lampi Islands having tasted a shorter 2N/3D previously. Our guide Sithu together with the crew members, was exceptional caring and knowledgeable . We enjoyed a very memorable time kayaking , snorkelling, python and bird spotting in mainly unspoilt islands ,( however sadly we did notice more floating debris than on our previous trip in December 2016). Sithu was good enough to capture these treasured moments and give us a lasting video memento. The boat was comfortable and air conditioned in the day but we preferred to have a door or window open at night as it would get too chilled .We had good weather throughout , with one stormy day with rough seas that came, and went as quickly . The cook rustled up great tasty food each day and soft drinks and water available freely with option to purchase beer before leaving the jetty . All in a all a great trip with a great English speaking guide Sithu and hardworking enthusiastic crew members who ensured we would benefit seeing as much marine life despite some being less proficient at snorkelling . More than happy to recommend Elegant Myanmar tours and the Mergui Princess
