Interesting but needs work

We stopped here on the way to Kakku and whilst it was interesting to see the different tribes and their traditional clothing, the festival and parade outside was more interesting.

The Shan State of Myanmar has an incredible history all its own, and the Cultural Museum is one place that one can learn to really appreciate this. It has four exhibition rooms containing over 800 artefacts. In one exhibition room one can view the traditional costumes and musical instruments by the over thirty different nationalities who reside in the Shan State. In another exhibition room, there is a display of traditional arts employed by the different nationalities, which include weaving, silverware and lacquer ware to name but a (very) few. In yet another exhibition room, one finds evidence of the Pinglon agreement, which served to unite Myanmar, and cede control from British rule. In a fourth exhibition room, one finds exhibits indicating the Shan nationalities deep rooted history Buddhist beliefs.
