With reference to positive review on the North Trek, we booked for a 2day trip with them. I found the service and response of this travel agency to be excellent. Quick customer service and advisable. It was such a great destination that we picked Hsipaw; Shan state is rich of cultural, people are nice, foods are brilliance. Ofcourse, charges are resonable at North Trek!

We met our guide at our hotel before the trekking day. The guide, Sai Sai is very friendly and explained us a few options for the trekking and helped us pick the route which is less touristy and more scenic views. The next day, Sai Sai picked us up at 8:00 AM from our hotel and our journey began. The nature, pine trees, tea plantation, and the yellow wild flowers are growing far beyond our sight and every minute of it was extraordinary. We got to the Palaung Village in the evening time. The homestay was lovely and the food was delish. Sai Sai is an absolutely amazing person to take on your tour. End of our trek, we planted a mango plant for this “Plant a memory” campaign for responsible tourism. Highly recommended!!!

We did a 2 night 3 day trek with Sai Sai. We met before the trekking and we discussed different options for trekking and he picked us up the next Morning. He had great English, very professional and very knowledgeable about the region and he got good relationship with the locals. The trek price is very reasonable and affordable. He took us to less touristy route with beautiful and scenic route. The host family in the hill top village was very excited to have us never and made us traditional meal which was tasty and fresh. Highly recommended The North Trek if you want to experience authentic trekking experience.

So far, I am totally satisfied with the decision to take 2 days 1 night trek in Hsipaw. Nice mountain, very good guide, Jon Kaung Khant, a very young but experienced guide. Cozy homestay, very delicious food and the peaceful village - Pan Kham Village. For me, this is the highlight of the trip to Myanmar.

During my visit to Myanmar, I decided to add in a hike into my three-week itinerary. I arranged the trip with The North Trek through their facebook where I was able to join with other hikers. This was my first time trekking in Myanmar and it was absolutely awesome. The highlight of my trip would be the local homestay. When we got to the village, we were greeted by an old lady dressed in full Palaung traditional dress. Lunch and dinner were served in the main room of our host family’s three-room house. During our first meal, we learned from our host about weaving the traditional clothes by the open window. At night, we sat by an open fire drinking tea. After a long day's walk, having a warm house to lay down at night gave me a deeper appreciation of shelter. This was so unique to anything I’ve ever done before.

If you are looking to do some trekking around Hsipaw away from the crowds and which isn't the basic touristy stuff, then do it with The North Trek. We went trekking with them this August and it was just amazing. We had a really great time with our guide Sai Sai, who explained so many interesting details about the region and Burmese/Shan culture. He lead us to some pretty remote villages in the hills of the area where people still live very simple and hardworking lives. Some of those mountains and villages are still fought over by different armed groups but with Sai Sai we never felt any danger. He always asked about the current situation and was kept well informed by locals. The company is a family business and since they do not have an office you need to contact them through Facebook, where they respond really fast and are happy to help
