Interesting site to visit if you have the time. It was nice to see and a pretty drive to get there...however, it would have been okay if we missed it.

This bridge will probably be on your list of places to visit as it is unusual and there is little to compare it with elsewhere. For that alone it is worth the trip. However it is the feel of the place with hundreds of locals...More

The lake and this bridge is not super beautiful. There are so many people and cars and trash when I went. However, if you happen to be there, calm boat ride was super nice, especially right before sunset. You can take a small picnic and...More

This bridge is very popular, for a good reason: the scenery is beautiful, especially at dusk. That's also the main problem. It gets really crowded at dusk. It’s still possible to enjoy the views though. I’d guess the best option would be to come before...More

In Amarapura we headed to the U Bein Bridge, so named after the man who built it in 1850 from wood reclaimed from the Royal Palace in Ava, it’s one thousand and eighty six pillars span the one point two kilometre lake. It’s reputed to...More

Amazing 2km long bridge made of teak with no railings on both sides! Make for an exciting walk but beware of being pushed accidentally when it gets too crowded!! Highlight was taking a boat from somewhere half way across the bridge(where there is a stairway...More

As we are staying over Mandalay for a night, we opt to go U Bein Bridge instead of Mandalay hill. Try to visit in the late afternoon as It's a nice place to see sunset but it's overly crowded.

I was worried that I would be put off by how busy the bridge is with tourists. We went around lunch time and it was quite busy, but worth going to. We walked about half way out and enjoyed the views, glad we didn't go...More

Nice place to visit, very popular with tourists and locals. LONG bridge that is fun to walk and watch people. We rented a dugout canoe or gondola to watch the sunset from the boat.

The bridge is truly an exciting experience in a way but only 20% of the bridge is located over water... But the view which you can get at sunset/rise is incredible!

Hi Bunny Most of the people go there from mandalay as only $5 by taxi and not much to do at the U Being Bridge on top of the bridge itself and a nice monk's monastery where you can see local donors offering food to monks. so... More
