I went on a tour with the owner of Nomads and his temperamental attitude really dampened the experience. While the information and sights were good the anger left a more lasting impression. I would not like this attitude at a hostel and would find it as uncomfortable as I found the tour. I did not stay at Nomads, I stayed at Hostel Mostel, which was great, but went on a tour with Nomads as my hostel were not offering it at the time. A group of 4 (3 from nomads hostel) arranged to hire a car, but at the last minute the owner offered to do the tour (he had previously refused), and we went with him since he would have the local knowledge, which he did. The owner was temperamental and would sometimes offer information and other times seemed to be angry with just one person or the whole group. This was displayed by specific comments to members in the group, prolonged awkward silences, palpable anger in what he was saying and after discussions with the others I realised it was felt by all. During the whole car trip he was playing loud spiritual music on repeat, that became annoying as the day progressed.Towards the end of the trip another person had a headache and he commented that it must be women's hobby to get headaches. Even if this was a joke (it didn't seem like it) it was very inappropriate. This was followed by a flat out refusal to drop me back off at my hostel and left me at sunset to find my own way back to my hostel without a map. At first we all thought he must be joking. It would have been cheaper to hire a car and do it ourselves and much more enjoyable. I was very happy that I was mot staying at Nomads and can only assume that if you do stay there you could be lucky and get him when he's happy, or you could leave the hostel half way through your booking.
