This waterfall is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen. Of course best time to see it is in spring when it is full of water. It's easily accessible by car and not far from Veliko Tarnovo, so if you are in town, you should deffinetely combine it with the nearby monastery- Transfiguration monastery, or only the waterfall. Above the waterfall there is an eco trail that is moderately difficult.

Planning a 5 day road trip through Bulgaria, we scoured online guides and itineraries to find the best places to visit. Somehow we came across guidance to visit this place and we were really really impressed.

Upon arriving we were the only non local/ non Bulgarians. There was a stunning waterfall cascade and beautiful pool people were swimming in. Many had brought BBQs and picnics and were lounging with friends and family.

There was also a fantastic trail to the top of this park and along it you would pass many more levels of the mesmerising waterfalls. Amazing photo opportunities and loved the natural beauty. Not too busy.

After a great hike we came back down and dived into the pool - perfect to freshen up at the end. There was a local stall selling refreshments too.

One of the nicest places I have been. It's a great trail, a lot of work put there into making it almost easy for tourists. Stairs, great views.
Still you need to have some decent equipment (boots).
The guy serving drinks and food at the entry of the trail is really helpful and nice.

Great for a walk or a climb with family and friends. Don’t forget to bring your sneakers and conquer the waterfall! It’s free and you can even make a picnic! Prepare yourself for lots of pictures 😊

Did a day trip from Bucharest and could not belive how beautiful was this place. It's accessible by car, there's a parking right in front of the big waterfall. The trail (ecopoteca) is spectacular, you climb on wodden (kinda shabby) laders and on rocks. The climb itself is fun and worth doing, plus the views. Not for ones with mobility issues, although the big waterfall is accessible for everyone. The walk back is easier, on the side of the canion back to the starting point. The trail is very short, we did it in 40 min, both ways and stopped a lot for photos. So I wouldn't advise to travel just for it, but make it a worth while stop on a combined trip to Veliko Tarnovo or another nearby tourist stop. There's a bar of some sort at the base of the trail with drinks and grill, bathroom and sun chairs. Even if short, always wear trekking shoes, it may be dangerous if you slip.

Went to visit the Waterfalls which were amazing. Follow the little greens signs through a couple of old villages. Arrived in a big car park next to a derelict house. Saw the waterfalls. Followed the steps off to the left and found a long trail of bridges, walkways, and ladders!
:0) Quite an adventure for my 6 and 12 year olds who loved it. Bit more of a climb for my 62 yr old Father but we all made it up past several waterfalls until the handrails stopped. Beyond this looked a bit awkward! Haha! Walked and climbed back to the bottom where we had reasonably priced ice creams next to the river! Great little afternoon out!

if you are from Bulgaria or even from Romania, Kaya Bunar waterfall and Hotnitsa Canyon are wonderful place to go for a day trip. There is the main waterfall and a walking trail named Ekopoteka with a lot of wooden stairs to climb. It is not easy nor difficult to walk there but the view it is amazing.

A lot of garbage. The water is dirty, the facilities along the eco path are old and broken. They are dangerous. A lot of pit pocket ... no parking places.
