Charming place with lots of old churches. Tiny cobbled streets in all directions with usual tourist type shops. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful little village, equipped with copious ice cream, restaurants, stall and little shops - a few interesting antiques too ! Nestled in the edge of the mainland, almost an island in its own right we arrived by private taxi as we were unsure of more local routes; we wandered around briefly before seeking refuge from the 33 degree heat.... Easily accessible by Bus, Taxi and Boat. This is Unesco preserved site and some nice old architecture and Quite a change to the party atmosphere in Sunny beach. I visited during the day, but i am told the night time view is amazing with all the lights. Lot of small shops to shop and eat. The place requires walking around... More

It is such a crying shame when a place of outstanding beauty is negatively affected by those who live/work there. Stunning, ancient churches that were sadly closed when I went on a Sunday (which I totally understand...that was my bad planning) and ruins from various periods in history. Aesthetically and culturally this place is incredible and needs to be seen... More

What a beautiful place! Visited during the day but it really comes alive at night. Full of charm. Our favourite of Bulgaria! Do not get the train though. It claims to return back to Sunny Beach (yuk!!) but doesn't go very far at all so you have to then walk or get a bus.

The old town of Nessebar is located on a peninsula, an area which is used within the building. Access is on a spit of land and immediately reach the archaeological museum, with exhibits and old icons. The vehicle is in the area are many churches, about 7-800 years old Bulgarian architecture and buildings. The old city is full of stalls... More

Nice authentic, abit busy but nice. The train ride is nice there and back but be warned the price is 3lv for everyone over the age of 3. The walk isn't gruesome from start to finish about 30-40 mins, nice in the evenings after your meal.

Went here with my five year old daughter and dad. Beautiful place with so many little streets coming off roads still don't think we covered the whole place. Lots of places to get get small gifts and trinkets at reasonable prices as well as the more up market shops which was well out of my price range. Beautiful at night... More

I've visited Nessebar a few times. Whilst staying in Sunny Beach this quickly became our favourite place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. We caught a boat from sunny beach and also caught the bus a couple of times...both were cheap and easy. Nessebar is stunning, a quiet peaceful traditional town. Lovely atmosphere. There... More

We visited Nessebar Old Town after it was recommended by our Balkan Holidays rep. We paid 25 Lev each way for a taxi. Unfortunately we didn't get to explore Saint Sofia church as our 2 teens didn't use any sun screen and were getting burnt! However we took a stroll round the outer edge taking in the calm refreshing sea... More
