Visiting the old town of Nessebar is a must if you are in Varna or Burgas. It is located on an island, connected with a bridge to the mainland. Narrow streets, quaint looking buildings, cute seaside restaurants (many of them not cheap though) and well preserved remnants of ancient churches and fortress walls are everywhere around the old town. Of course, you'd better go there in the summer but keep in mind it gets too packed at that time but you will still enjoy it. For me, a bit annoying are the touts in front of some of the restaurants soliciting people to enter but in this pandemic time they are not as persistent and arrogant as before. My wife and I love strolling the seaside promenade that circles the whole town - it takes about an hour to make a full round.

The old town of Nessebar is on a small peninsula in the Black Sea which is linked with the mainland called New Nessebar, that's where we lived. But it took us like 10 minutes to walk into the old town.
It's one of the oldest towns in Europe and considered one of the best-preserved when it comes to architectural landmarks and buildings. Its really quite the romantic town with its small squares, narrow cobblestone alleys, and its beautiful two-story houses with the stone at the bottom and wooden upper floors.

An artistic place with a lot to see. There are art galleries(free visit) everywhere around the streets of the old town. You can even buy a small painting as a souvenir. The architecture is really beautiful and there are some gorgeous sea views around the town. It’s full of restaurants and cafes. It’s a must see in the region.

The old town of Nessebar is extremely well preserved. Here you can see many remains from the time of Byzantium, several interesting churches with preserved frescoes and icons from the Middle Ages. The narrow streets are full of restaurants, shops and cafes working at decent prices. The evening may be a little crowded.

A place with great history, amazing views and strong emotional impact. There is no better place in Bulgaria for a dinner with an amazing view of the sun setting over the Black Sea. If its raining Old Nessebar makes for great romantic walks, talks and drinks.

The old city of Nessebar is a little gem on the Bulgarian coast. It offers great history lessons as well as a very beautiful evening walk (not only!) troughout paved streets, small, old houses and great restaurants. If in the area, it is a must visit. Definitely worth spending a day (or evening) here!

Nice little place for a wander. It wasn't to crowded when we went. Lots of "antique" shops, some good, some not so good, a lot of fake....er......repro Nazi stuff for sale so buyer beware.

I visited the old town when I was on holiday back in September. It’s such an amazing place to explore with the cobbled pathways. The old town has different bars/restaurants and many souvenir shops where you can have a little look round as well. There are many buildings that looked so amazing. Would definitely come back again the next time I’m in Bulgaria and near the area.

Beautiful and ancient place for a walk. The streets in Nessebar have very nice and romantic atmosphere. You can find here also number of shops and restaurants. From the borders you have got also nice view to the sea and Sunny beach. If you are not shopping, it is one hour to make a circle enough.
