    Must see place in Bulgaria
We stayed for a week in Sunny Beach ee went to see this must see place. It was around 30' by bus from our hotel. Not surprised it's a Unesco Heritage site, very nice old town. As soon as you go inside the walls you can breathe the history, see the buildings have the byzantine influence . A lot of shops and narrow pedestrian streets to visit in a few hours.

    A must visit
Stunning place, so pretty. Buildings are gorgeous, and the view on the coast is to die for. A must visit if in Bulgaria. We got the boat over from sunny beach which was a bit expensive but a lovely way to arrive. Be careful, the boat says kids cost 15 lev but it's height not age dependent so be aware.

Would thoroughly recommend a visit here!
What a wonderful place to visit! Beautiful, ancient cobbled streets and buildings, lots of architecture, lots of quaint small stalls and shops, lots of great restaurants with beautiful sea views, lots of character and a must visit if in the area. Could have spent a few days enjoying all of the above

Great Byzantine architecture, really busy, pushy street vendors
Had a walk around here and saw some great buildings. The streets were really busy and the mixture of old buildings, cobbled streets, ice cream stands and shops pushing tourist trinkets didn’t really work for us. We heard tales of aggressive trinket sellers but didn’t encounter them ourselves. Definitely worth a visit to this World Heritage place.

    Stunning
Beautiful ancient town. Plenty of restaurants and shops whilst still retaining the ancient feel. Views of the sea are stunning. Little cobbled streets lead off each other into another. Would highly recommend a visit.

    Beautiful and unique
We took a one-day trip from Burgas (35kms) and visited this nice town, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. I agree, because it’s a picturesque town located on an island. It’s about 850m long and 350m wide. The Old Town consists of 100 traditional stone and wooden houses. They were built in 18-19th century. We were strolling in the narrow, cobbled streets and saw nice buildings, many shops and cafes. It’s a must-see site in Bulgaria.

Highlight of our trip to Bulgaria
This place is stunning! Travelled with my partner and our 3yo daughter. We were staying in Sunny Beach which was perfect for my daughter, but this area Is much nicer for adults who want a more peaceful trip. We had lovely food, people friendly, some lovely shops and local artwork selling in the streets. Easy to get to from sunny beach by taxi only 30lev. Highly recommend at least a day trip here for anyone staying in Sunny Beach. We didn't have a tour but if we were visiting as a couple we would. So much history in this small area, very interesting

    A charming old town
We stopped in this charming old town on our way from Varna to Burgas. Nesebar is a really nice town with lots of shops and cafes. And I noticed that toilets (toilets) are also very important in this town, as there were many signs indicating this.

The old town is the best part of Nessabar. Little side roads run off, where you can get lost. A hundred or so small shops selling everything from local food and drinks, to knock off football shirts to paintings to cheap toys.

The place is fairly clean
If you or the kids need the loo, you have to pay to use a side loo at a restaurant.
No public loos or water fountains

A fair few "gypsy" women putting / tying bracelets on the young boys then grabbing them for cash.

Bus loads of tourists in and out all the time

The buildings are stunning
You could walk about for hours
But you do get a feeling the locals do not like the English much.

Seen it
Wouldn't visit again

The old town of Nessebar is on a small peninsula in the Black Sea which is linked with the mainland called New Nessebar, that's where we lived. But it took us like 10 minutes to walk into the old town.
It's one of the oldest towns in Europe and considered one of the best-preserved when it comes to architectural landmarks and buildings. Its really quite the romantic town with its small squares, narrow cobblestone alleys, and its beautiful two-story houses with the stone at the bottom and wooden upper floors.

The old town of Nessebar is extremely well preserved. Here you can see many remains from the time of Byzantium, several interesting churches with preserved frescoes and icons from the Middle Ages. The narrow streets are full of restaurants, shops and cafes working at decent prices. The evening may be a little crowded.

What a beautiful spot. We loved wandering the small streets, go into the houses-turned-into-art studios and enjoying a few meals and drinks with a view.
Very easy to reach from Sunny Beach by bus (pretty much any bus, at 2lv pp) and quite frankly, só much nicer than Sunny Beach.

An artistic place with a lot to see. There are art galleries(free visit) everywhere around the streets of the old town. You can even buy a small painting as a souvenir. The architecture is really beautiful and there are some gorgeous sea views around the town. It’s full of restaurants and cafes. It’s a must see in the region.

Old town well worth a visit. Lovely olde world streets, shops ,bars and restaurants. Many of the restaurants have sea views and prices in Bulgaria are very very reasonable compared to most of Europe. Lovely pace for a stroll.

Such a beautiful place with gorgeous tight streets. Mostly cobbles so trainers is probably better than flip flops.
Just a charming little town with lots of lovely cafes and restaurants.

We went in September so it wasn’t too full with people but I can imagine in summer it may be a slightly more claustrophobic atmosphere if lots of people are there
