Received the usual warm welcome by Boris, Alex and the team. Thanks to the lovely, calm and patient Maria and Georgi for their private lessons over time. My family and I first met Georgi as complete beginners now we're tackling slopes I didn't think were possible. They can relate to kids, worried mums and fearless dads in equal measure. Their ability to note if we're on/off form or if the difficult black will be easier than the icy red and all other variables; means the lessons are pitched perfectly. My kids are now flying! Wish I could keep up with them! Another trip to practice some more?... - Thelma Hazel H29 contributionsOnce again the Alpin rentski depot did not disappoint. The equipment was new and the rear entry Nordica boots were the most comfortable I have worn . The ski store is so clean and there was no queuing at all, heated lockers mean that you can leave all of your equipment and walk back to your accommodation without carrying all of ski equipment. The ski store is situated on the nursery slope in front of Rila which means that you can ski in and out. I hate having to walk to the slopes . She was absolutely fantastic, very patient and helped build our confidence for the rest of our holiday. The shop is located at the side of the nursery slopes and the 6-person gondola. The staff are helpful and the equipment seems to be good quality. It worked out at £70 for 2 adults for 3 days for ski's and boots, maybe slightly cheaper if booked online. Overnight storage is available. Would recommend.

As a party of 8 we booked everything, 6 day lift pass, ski/boot hire, storage lockers, 6 hr lessons for 2 people.
Having had an excellent experience when we used a rental company when we stayed in Bansko I decided to book ourselves for Borovets than use Balkan.
Booking went smoothly, I also sent an email a few days before arriving and had a quick response. I initially thought these guys will be good.
I had an overall price in euro and on an email I was asked to pay by cash, either euro, gbp or lev. Other than exchanging money I decided to pay gbp, I contacted others who were travelling with us and informed them of how much it would cost each of them.
When we arrived we had to pay the balance, I couldn't understand why it was costing more than what I had converted to in gbp.
I took the invoice of the guy and worked out the price again. So it turned out that they were using their own exchange rate which was ridiculous.
3 of the party paid by card in euro and I had the pay the balance in gbp or I was told by the man I could go lift cash from the machine. I told him I couldn't do this as there is maximum that can be withdrawn and what was I going to do with approx £1000. So for 5 of us I had to pay an extra £60 which I just accepted.
From that there seemed to be extra money for everything, 10 lev each deposit for lift pass, 5 lev extra to use the equipment that you had already paid for to use for night skiing.
We were not prepared for this at all.
My boots were probably years old.
I did try and be polite to the men that worked there but they were very rude, the man that served us on the first day did try and have a bit of a joke with me regarding me giving him a beer. The man with the bald head was extremely rude and just starred at you.
Pros:
My son says the ski's were good
Chrissey my instructor was great I would give her 5 stars all the way. She was very patient with me.
Advice:
If you are given a price in euro pay in euro then you won't pay extra on your initial quote.
Be prepared for an extra 10 lev deposit on each lift pass.
On top of the cost for a lift pass for night skiing you will need an extra 5 lev for each person for the ski hire equipment and they do not stay open until the night skiing finishes, they will tell you on the first day that they close at 945pm, night skiing is until 10.30pm.
The night we night skied we were told to be back for 930pm
We only did one night as we didn't want to give them anymore money.
I'm actually surprised they didnt charge us for sitting outside eating lunch which we joked about.

We rented the skis and boots, and had private instruction from this company. We also had a ski locker for 3. The business was right on the slope in front of the Rila on the ground floor of the Alpin Arena so a few steps from the slope and lifts, a major advantage as I hate walking in ski gear. The ski store and lockers are state of the art,heated lockers and automatic unlocking of the lockers by use of lift pass.The staff were very friendly and efficient. One member of our party was a beginner and had 4x 2hours private instruction from Sasho who was wonderful.The second day he was skiing on runs that had taken me the second year of skiing in a group.The beginner was able to ski the MusaIa path efficiently on the 4th day when the snow conditions were good.I used this company 4 years ago when it was in the same position but the premises is in a wonderful new building,most of the staff are the same from 2016.Thoroughly recommend them and will use them again.

Alex the owner very helpful and friendly with the booking. this was our second time renting equipment, using lockers and George for private family ski lessons. I booked 4 hours a day for the entire week, I wondered if this was too excessive, however, I'm so glad we had this time with George. Apart from our introductory lessons to skiing with him from 3 years ago- before covid, we were more or less beginners. At the end of the holiday we'd ventured across the mountain and tried out some red and black runs. Great company with George, great family holiday, felt very well looked after, kids happy, parents happy, great success. Private lessons worth every penny, highly recommend digging deep. Thanks George, Alex and the team. Xx

In summary, great gear and top notch service. I had cautiously booked Alpin, just for the beginning of our stay. After getting the equipment and spending an hour with the instructor I extended for the entire stay. We would highly recommend Maria. She is kind competent and committed. Thanks to her my kids progressed from first time skiers to coping with red level slope within a week. Even my wife asked her for private lessens for herself. Thanks, Mimi!

Staff all pretty helpful but Vladimir the instructor stood out. Within a couple of hours he had our family group all basically snowboarding. He was lovely with the kids and was very encouraging and funny. Would definitely recommend him.

This is the 2nd year we've used Alpin for private 121 lessons for our youngest who's just turned 4.
Maria was a brilliant teacher, always on time, Happy and smiley. She was patient with our daughter and never on e rushed her or made her feel unhappy, even when she was falling over. I guess the chocolate she gave her helped :-)
Last year was all a out trying out skis but this year we saw real progress and by the end of the week she was able to snow plough turn, control her speed and stop.
Brilliant job Maria, Aoife loved her time with you and she'll be back with Alpin next year!

I’m a beginner skier and just know the basics about snowplough and linking turns. However my confidence was zero. I booked a 2 hour lesson with Alpin ski centre and my tutor was Vanya. She was lovely. She greeted me with a huge smile and was very friendly. I explained what I was lacking and just in the short space of time she helped teach me to ski confidently down the Blue runs. I was so thrilled that I booked the following day for another 2 hour lesson, this time she took me on the 4 man chair lift to the very top of the mountain and we skied gently down. Vanya was patient which helped me maintain my confidence. With her expert knowledge I’ve retained all she taught me which has given me the confidence to ski so much better. We will be returning next year with our children and will definitely be booking them in with Vanya! Kindness goes a long way! So Thank you my darling!

With my wife we booked online, private ski lessons to Alpin Ski & Snowboard in Borovets.
The online booking was very fast and we received always fast answers.
Me and my wife Mary took lessons from instructor Giorgi that was amazing and helped us both learn to ski and improve our confidence.
During our ski lessons we had lots of fun on the slopes of Borovets.
Thanks to Georgi we had a great winter holiday.
Time passes so fast in such a great company :)

We booked with Alpin last season and had no hesitation to book again this year. Did everything online in advance, paid the 10% deposit via Paypal and then settled the balance in cash when we arrived: equipment, lessons, ski pass. Cannot speak highly enough of everyone - both the technicians and instructors. We had the same instructors as last year - Maria took the kids for two hours each morning while my wife and I went with Ivanka. I also had a couple or hours with Ivanka while the rest of the family were having lunch. Definitely using Alpin again next season ...
