Superb shopping malls...but stay away at lunch time...all food courts / restaurants extremely busy with locals. A country that celebrates Christmas... For all ages...

And beautiful, with its own character. Great big park, basilica and streets to roam on. Police was in many places and I did not feel any less safe than if I was in Detroit by day ;-)

The whole district is composed of shopping as well as living and luxury quarters. This is the richest neighborhood in Sao Paulo and, by visiting its streets, shops, restaurants and cafes, one can have a clear idea of how Sao Paulo is by far the...More

Sao Paulo Basics (4 Replies)
Hello I am planning a trip to Sao Paulo towards the end of this month (September 2015) I was hoping for some guidance on the following, Average taxi fare cost from the International Airport to the Jardins district? (for two people, with two big and two small bags) Average taxi fares around the city? Average cost of a fast food meal at a Mc Donalds or similar? (working on a meals budget) Is free Wifi available around the city? Thanks!

Taxi will cost around 140 reais from the airport to city. A 7KM ride cost for me around 30 reais depending on traffic. Mcdonalds meals (combos) costs around 21 reais each. There is free wi-fi normally in restaurants, malls. Not everywhere and most times need to ask password.

Place to drink and watch the world go by? (6 Replies)
I'm in the Jardins district for as few days. I had a look round and found some nice bars but they're all on the busy streets with more traffic to see than people. Anywhere you could recommend where I can watch beautiful people without so much traffic? Like a plaza or piazza? 'brigado

Suggestions for bars/pubs in Sao Paulo (5 Replies)
I'm looking for a laid back bar/pub where I can have a few drinks with friends and/or watch World Cup matches that I don't have tickets to. Any ideas? I'm staying in the Jardins district so something close by would be preferable but I'm open to exploring other areas.
