Neighborhood:
Sé, which derives its name from Sé Square, is a central neighborhood in historic São Paulo. Close by, the Law School, the Museum of the Court of Justice and the Metropolitan Cathedral offer inspiring architecture. If you are looking for cultural activities, head to Caixa Cultural and check the schedule. In the area there is a popular pedestrian street called “Rua Direita”, one of the first streets in the region, which today marks the crowded perimeter. Sé is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.

FIESPCultural Center has a small, but great Café on its -1 floor and great exhibitions.
Besides that, around 3 o 'clock on Sunday afternoons, you can watch a concert on avenida Paulista, in front of their building. Som of the ones I've seen were amazing.

Loved the free (at least the Monday we visited) exhibit of Da Vinci invention designs. Well laid out with representative inventions and background story of what he was trying to accomplish. Takes about 1 hour to see. You can then walk to MASP afterwards.

There was a delightful exhibition on the works of Leonardo da Vinci when we visited in January. Definitely worth checking out. Totally free :)

this cultural center used to be better, but is still worth a visit if there's some nice exhibition taking place. when there's something, is usually good and always free.

This spece hosts temporary exhibitions that change from time to time. In September 2014 there was the FILE 2014 (International Festival of Electronic Language) with a series of interactive devices and installations. Not too big, though. But if you are at the Avenida Paulista region, it is worth checking out what's on. Most of the exhibitions are free, which makes the visit more attractive for people on a budget in such an expenside town like Sao Paulo.
