Neighborhood: Bela Vista
Known for its Italian cantinas, Bela Vista is the place to go for great pasta. Also called “Bixiga”, the area is an important cultural part of the city, with the bohemian and the religious costumes of its inhabitants on full display. In August, the large Nossa Senhora Achiropita party fills the streets with a variety of Italian food and music. You can experience the liveliness of the neighborhood walking through the antiquities fair at Dom Orione Square or visiting the “Brazilian Caminito”, a version of the Argentinian street complete with colorful buildings. Bela Vista is also home to the traditional samba school “Vai-Vai”. Buy a ticket to a rehearsal and get a taste of what Carnival is like.

This is the real deal
Nov 2019
This is the opera play that are running the world with Brazilian actors and singers. All equipment, furniture, scenarios, special effects and scripts came from the original production company. So it's very well planned, designed and executed to be the Phantom of the Opera famous play.

The story can be read on the Internet or in the booklet that is distributed in the beginning. It's crucial to get into the theater 20 min earlier at least, they don't let anyone enter the premises after the play starts. The same happens during the intermissions, so be sharp regarding time. They have an annoying ringing to warn everyone that the play will start soon, so don't worry about missing the time.

Unmissable!!!!!!
Jul 2019
Adapted to Portuguese, it faithfully portrays the North American production in poster for over 30 years (in fact, they have participated in the production of this show). A must-see show that takes place in a theater with all the necessary infrastructure. Outside, there are paid parking lots, but there is a whole city hall structure to manage traffic and allow taxis, ubers, private vehicles and buses to serve the entire public.

Amazing night! Very well organized, excellent production and cast!
Jan 2019 • Friends
Renault Theater is known to host the best musical productions in Sao Paulo. I had the opportunity to see a performance of the Phantom of Opera this time. It was my birthday and I can't think on anything to undermine that night. The theater itself is very well located, easy access (there are a lot of parking lots around it) . I had balcony seats and you probably can seat anywhere up there and have an amazing and unobstructed view. Probably is not as good at sides (never bought tickets there), but I feared it was very far from the stage. Actually it was very good because they have elements that move up the ceiling so you can see that perfectly. The Phantom was performed in Portuguese and that was a major worry of mine because it is my favorite musical and I can say now that it shouldn't be. I loved it. It was so amazing that I got goosebumps and in moments I cried. Kudos to the cast and orchestra. Before the start or in the intermission you can buy a glass of Moscato, or some other drinks and even popcorn and soda , if you want (there was a thematic combo). They have a gift store in the hall. Worth the experience.

Very good theater

Whatever you go to see there, it´s worth it. Stage is very deep, which provides possibility for extraordinary sets and all kinds of effects, as well as numberless changes during the presentation. Excellent sound. I saw The Phantom of the Opera and all effects of the original musical and the movie were done. Excellent!

The Phantom at home
Aug 2018 • Solo
Theater Renault was formerly known as Teatro Abril. An ample building in classic style that usually presents musicals. I watched yesterday "The Phantom of the Opera". Lots of staff and there were firefighters on site giving assistance. The show very good. There were tourists on chartered buses who came to the event. People come in with buckets of popcorn and soft drinks (sold at the entrance) did not bother me too much. But a lot of people come in when there is an hour of the show really seems inappropriate. The music overlapped many times to the singing of the actors (very good and with great vocal ability) and could not understand what they sang. There was explicit help for accessibility for the disabled, something completely lacking in other theaters in the city. I hope one day the Renault theater will invest in Excellence for the beyond the very good

Les Miserables - Musical
Apr 2017 • Friends
Very good theather with the greatest Musical Shows in the world. Nice venue, very clean and neat. It gets very crowd and messy during the breaks, but that's because the house is full. Ive watched Wicked, Beauty and The Beast and Les Miserables. All good!!!

Les MIserables was in a popular session, 50 bucks for a seat that's is about 150 in normal days.

Les Miserable
Mar 2017 • Business
The wonderful show Les Miserable has come over here for a season. The theatre is very nice. Used to be a cinema and has now been converted to a theatre.
The outside of the building is lovely and original.
The area may be a little "worn" but it's safe and worth the effort to see a show.
