It used to be a movie theatre. It has lots of space and it is easy to find what you are looking for. Most of titles are in Portuguese but you can many titles in other languages, mainly English, Spanish and French. Definitely a bookstore to visit if you are in São Paulo.

Hi people, I go to Livraria Cultura whenever I have an opportunity. It has an incredible environmental and I believe it is a place to go with your family. They are located in SP in the famous Paulista Avenue. They have other bookstores located in malls spread for Brazil but, definitely, I recommend you to visit the unit located in... More

If there is one bookstore in São Paulo that one should visit, it is this one. I was wondering if I even should review it, since, well, it is just a bookstore, but Livraria Cultura really is worth a visit, even if a short one. Located near the street of Consolação and the small shopping Center 3, this place is... More

This marvelous library hosts not only an increadible amount of book titles, but also a cozy café, with delicious food and passtiserie, a theater and a small playground for kids. Not to mention that the library is located in the Conjunto Nacional, right in front of Avenida Paulista and with easy access by metro (Consolação)

Livraria Cultura is the biggest and the best bookstore in São Paulo. Located at the end of Paulista avenue, includes a very nice café, visited by around 10,000 persons a day in its 3.5 thousand square meter.

Went with my girlfriend and her mother to look for books. Was really impressed by the size of the store and the amount of books they had. Even though most were in Portuguese they still have a selection in English, too. However, most of them are a lot more expensive. Found some English books about programming that costed 400-800 R$.... This is one of the most interesting bookstores in Brazil. The interior design is great and there are several good spots for reading. If you are on a rush, just give the Livraria Cultura a visit and buy a book. If you have time, choose a book and start reading it on the store.

Staying in Jardins

Neighborhood Profile
Jardins
Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins is the junction of four smaller neighborhoods: Jardim Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a variety of things to do, including shopping, museums and parks. The neighborhood is well known for “Oscar Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find a trendy museum, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), which people often line up for hours to visit. If green space is what you're after, take time to relax at Trianon Park, a refuge in the heart of Paulista Avenue.
