Went to check it out based on a friend's recommendation. Spent an hour wandering around. The book store is huge. Many of the social science departments have some books in English. But, most of the literature is only in Portuguese. Regardless, for bibliophiles, it was a must see!!

Wonderful library. It worths a visit, but unfortunately there are not many books in english or spanish. It is delightful to watch so many people reading all around the library area, wich is huge!

This is an amazing book store in the heart of Paulista. Great architecture. It incudes a cafe, a theater and a movie theater for your entertainment.

Beautiful layout - comfortable baggy chairs to relax and read and socialize. Definitely something we could use more of in North America. Great selections of books even in English and games to buy for loved ones at home.

If you are interested in CDs. DVDs. books and maybe a show...just go to Livraria Cultura at Conjunto Nacional, Paulista Av. A beautiful place, nice atmosphere, and when I´ve been there there was a show on Brazilian Pop music. I recommend to go on a Saturday afternoon it´s crowded but it worths it!

This is one of my favorite spots in São Paulo. I love browsing the books CDs, movies and series DVDs, stationary, magazines... I'd be great to find more items in English (literature and children's books) and older movies, although they have quite a display! The café is always packed and service can be slow but if you're a little patient... More

Located in one of the most important Avenue from Sao Paulo (Paulista Ave.). The building also it´s a mark. Lots of people, with coffe shop and Cinema alternative! Good place to see locals and young people.

You may start deciding to go there for just a cup of coffee (good service, slightly expensive)... I sugges you to take a look around, talk to the selling crew, find stuff in your native language, you may discover a few other things... soon you've spent way more than the coffee I mentioned... This bookstore is quite unique: Good place... More

You could spend hours inside. Just go in, take a look, walk around, pick a book, sit down and enjoy. There's a cafe, sometimes they have special guests or book signings, they have another 2 (I think) smaller bookstores next to the main one with specific themes, a geek and an art one, form what I remember. There's small a... More

Staying in Jardins

Neighborhood Profile
Jardins
Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins is the junction of four smaller neighborhoods: Jardim Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a variety of things to do, including shopping, museums and parks. The neighborhood is well known for “Oscar Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find a trendy museum, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), which people often line up for hours to visit. If green space is what you're after, take time to relax at Trianon Park, a refuge in the heart of Paulista Avenue.
