Sé, which derives its name from Sé Square, is a central neighborhood in historic São Paulo. Close by, the Law School, the Museum of the Court of Justice and the Metropolitan Cathedral offer inspiring architecture. If you are looking for cultural activities, head to Caixa Cultural and check the schedule. In the area there is a popular pedestrian street called “Rua Direita”, one of the first streets in the region, which today marks the crowded perimeter. Sé is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.

Unfortunately, the post-pandemic version of this bookstore is very sad. Many of the sections have been reduced (like architecture, books in English, Spanish, or other languages) to their minimum expression or even disappeared. The existing books are very expensive compared to other online options and it has become a luxury to buy books there. Moreover, most of the people that stay reading there were wearing their masks incorrectly, which clearly discourages responsible visitors that want to search for specific books.

This place is my Platonic ideal of what a bookstore should be. It is a marvelous space for readers and browsers of all ages, and you can easily spend hours here without having the slightest desire to go elsewhere. They even have beanbag chairs for 'children of all ages' to lounge in while reading a book.

This is impossible to miss for all geeks and nerds out there. Situated in one of the best parts of the city, this unit of Livraria Cultura is just packed with books and multimedia, while also boasting a theater with regular concerts and plays, plus an adjacent cinema. Absolute must-go.

Unmissable! Really unmissable! Whenever in São Paulo, always a visit to "Livraria Cultura", at its branch in "Conjunto Nacional" mall. At the heart of Paulista Avenue, very near "Consolação Subway Station", you will find "Livraria Cultura", a bookshop with the best selection of books, CDs and DVDs in São Paulo! And if you are looking for titles in English or other foreign languages, this is the place to go. A small café, inside the premisses, caters for light meals, snacks and sandwiches. Take your time and stroll along its endless shelves and stands. Enjoy!

It is huge! It has any title you could look for in a number of languages and if they dont have it they are happy to help you order it. Lots of comfortable space to sit down with a book and explore and the staff here are incredibly helpful too.

What a book shop! They have nearly every book you might be looking for, in many different languages. If you like books, you could very well spend a whole day there. And whenever you feel like, have a cup of espresso coffe. Worth a visit for sure!

One of the best bookstore - you can achieve all sorts of book and at the same time have a coffee, snacks... It is very well located at the Paulista Avenue - a lot of buses lines and and metro at your door. It is surrounded by all the kind of restaurants, you have at least two malls near.

I love this bookstore and cannot leave without buying something! They have 2 stores in the gallery where it is located. A big one where you can find a café inside, they offer free wi-fi and about 3 or 4 stores of books! They have a section with books in other languages such as Spanish and English. The smaller store is across the main one, where you can find books about travel, food and art. A lot of people go there to hang out and browse books. Easily spend a few hours there.
