The Copan building extends sinuous and sensual at Avenida Ipiranga, near Republic Square, its forms amounts to the landscape of downtown, breaking straight lines of the surrounding buildings. One of the main postcards of the city. Visits are made twice during the day, at 10:30 and 15:30, Monday to Friday. Good option to know a little more of this immense... More

We went there to see the oscar Neimeyer masterpiece everybody is talking about, but sadly it was under renovation so we couldn't really see it. It looks great though, in pictures. (Ha) We had coffee at the cafe Florentina under it though, which was a rich experience. Recommended.

The Copan Building is definitely one of the biggest and well known landmarks in Sao Paulo. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer (designed the capital of Brazil - Brasilia as well), it is definitely a pioneer style in modem architecture in Brazil.

I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that our hotel is in the neighborhood of this building. It was an excellent overture to our Brazilian holiday where one of the "musts" was a visit to Curitiba just because of Oscar Niemeyer's museum.

If you love Street shooting, Copan is a must, its architecture design is a little different from the ordinary buildings, you can get nice shots from bottom or from the top of Italia building.

Described as having "sinuous and elegant lines," 1 was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, and is located in one of the busiest in downtown São Paulo points. It is well known for its winding geometry that resembles a wave, and the superlatives numbers of your stats

The Copan is one of the most important and emblematic buildings of the city of São Paulo. Designed by Brazillian architect Oscar Niemeyer 1951, this singular wave-shaped building stand out for its winding geometry among several old buildings and few square line buildings. Staying in Republica

Neighborhood Profile
Part of the historical center of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighborhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
