About
The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Neighborhood: Ibirapuera
Ibirapuera Park, the highlight of this neighborhood, is a family-friendly area to have a picnic, relax, play sports, exercise or appreciate art. It gets crowded during the weekends and is a popular leisure destination for residents. Its 1,584 square kilometers holds three lakes, two museums and several other cultural spaces. The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as free music concerts and a water and light show celebrating the holidays at the end of the year. There are two important monuments to visit, the Obelisk and the Flag Monument. Ibirapuera is a perfect escape!

Beautiful place where the time is flying.

Beautiful park with many tourists around. Saying seriously it's very crowded place. It's because there are many things to do and activities. We were riding the bikes and feeding the ducks. We had a lot of fun during whole day.

Early walk
Jan 2021 • Couples
This is a great park for an early morning walk, well maintained and very safe with a visible security and police presence.

Unfortunately none of the signs are in English, which makes it difficult to navigate the 3 walking routes.

The bicycle track is well marked in blue so it doesn't make sense why this has not been extended to the walking tracks, which would benifit from 3 serperate coloured lines.

Best of Sao Paulo
Feb 2020
Ibirapuera isn't referred to as one of the best urban parks in the world for no reason. In the heart of a city of 20 million lies a beautiful tranquil respite from the surrounding madness. Like NYC Central Park but cleaner, it's large enough that it never feels crowded despite being maybe the most popular destination in SP for locals and tourists alike. In addition to loads of trails, ponds, streams, and playgrounds there is also a concert hall, museum, and loads of street vendors selling delicious food. An absolute must-see for anyone visiting Sao Paulo.

This park is a wonderful place if you want to run, have a walk or simply to disconnect from city environment, reading a book or laying down on the grass. Hig

Expansive, beautiful city park with some eye candy
Jun 2020
I spent a lot of time in Ibirapuera during my month long stay in Sao Paulo in June 2013. Enjoyed the flora and the ponds and fountains, but especially the constant stream of fit paulistas running on the many paths.

Really nice
Mar 2020 • Solo
The park is beautiful with some museums. There's a lake, birds and sculptures. So even if you're there early and museums aren't open there's things to see.
