About
The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Neighborhood: Ibirapuera
Ibirapuera Park, the highlight of this neighborhood, is a family-friendly area to have a picnic, relax, play sports, exercise or appreciate art. It gets crowded during the weekends and is a popular leisure destination for residents. Its 1,584 square kilometers holds three lakes, two museums and several other cultural spaces. The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as free music concerts and a water and light show celebrating the holidays at the end of the year. There are two important monuments to visit, the Obelisk and the Flag Monument. Ibirapuera is a perfect escape!

Since I was a teenager, I've been going to this park a lot and I've been able to follow its changes, the park is extremely well maintained and has several new areas. Some of the old areas remain intact, such as the children's playground, the Afro museum, bike path, pokestops and planetarium (check the times) and all the green areas for picnics, in addition to this we have a lot of new things such as several courts and food trucks. My only complaints are: the price of the food (which, despite having a lot of options, is expensive), the skate park (as it is closed and was a much better area for skateboarding and the like, in addition to the fact that there were some shows there) and for last but most important the LACK OF WATER, they simply disabled ALL the drinking fountains, in this heat of almost 40 degrees you are forced to pay a fortune for a bottle of water and if by chance you take yours, you won't have anywhere to fill it, there was a The sun was shivering the day I went and I almost got sick because of it. One thing I really liked was how nature and its life grew a lot there, in the past there were only a few swans and herons, this last time I went I saw several different birds and even a little marmoset monkey in the trees, they also put up some signs at some points showing the animals that exist in the region, I thought this was really cool. Lastly, I visited the Japanese pavilion, which despite being there for a while I had never been to, I found it extremely cute, a little small but with lots of interesting things, a koi pond, sculptures, little shop, snack bar and all that themed stuff. I recommend this tour to everyone, be it family, friends, tourists, it's a very peaceful place and just don't mess around too much and it's safe.

A rare jewel for Pulistanos, Ibirapuera Park offers a wonderful experience on weekdays, a variety of incredible trees, a wonderful lake, as well as cultural spaces with breathtaking architectural designs. On Saturday and Sunday the park is very crowded and does not offer much relaxation and calm. It's really worth knowing

The Ibirapuera Park is an indispensable program for those who go to São Paulo. It offers many attractions: modern art museum, cycling path, planetary, sculpture garden, playground, Japanese pavilion, picnic lawn, among others. On weekends the movement is big. The park is secure and access is free. Impossible to meet in one day, it's too big.

SP's largest city park. While it was not as expansive as Central Park in NYC or the English Garden in Munich, it is worth a visit as there are museums and sights throughout. The park is packed with runners in the morning, so it is a great option for you if you want to run. For the Christmas time, there is also a lit up Christmas tree that is accompanied by a water fountain show.

Excellent option for practicing sports (in my case) and going out with the family. After the privatization of the park, security and the structure of bars and bathrooms were greatly improved. The park is easy to get to and has a good parking structure. It's worth the visit for anyone in SP.

A paradise for runners, you don't feel alone:) I've never seen so many people run like this park .... it felt like a marathon!!! But no .... a well-kept park, with all the information to run, for the safety of people, really a place I would like in my city, with beautiful graphics that explain everything! And then there are also two buildings built by Oscar Niemeyer that today house the Brazilian Afro Museum (which I admit I did not visit) and the Planetarium, with the wind rose in front of it. If you don't run, you can still take a nice walk, it's worth it.

Ibirapuera Park is a great place to walk, practice physical activities and enjoy some leisure time. The park's infrastructure is very good, with several leisure areas, such as playgrounds, sports courts, bike paths, fountains, museums and cultural spaces. Furthermore, the park's fauna and flora are very well preserved, which provides a pleasant and relaxing environment.

The park is incredible in itself, but it is much more than a park. This was my third visit and I haven't even explored 2/10 of this place! It is beautiful, clean, safe, well maintained and with great infrastructure! In addition to the park itself, very wooded, with a lake, gardens and great bike paths (including an app to find your way around), the space has museums and other rich cultural sites there. There is also no shortage of options for getting around and eating, as well as accessibility, despite being a gigantic place. It's worth mentioning that parking on sunny weekends is almost impossible and you paid for it! Cycling on these days is also a complicated task, very different from super calm weekdays. They need to update the website, as it contains a lot of incorrect information about the operation of their facilities, which disrupted the plans for my last visit.

São Paulo's main public park continues to be lush and beautiful. It is especially rewarding on weekdays when you can avoid the crowds. Of special interest are the modernist buildings designed by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer. However, if you use a hand-held camera (mine is a Canon EOS R100) you will be stopped by rude guards who will direct you to an administration building where you are required to obtain permission to take pictures, even if you are a tourist taking photos only for yourself. You have to fill out a form and then wear a colorful wrist band while you wander the park! I visited Ibirapuera twice in October and was stopped both times. I asked the park administration about this and they gave me no explanation for this intrustive behavior other than to say "it's a park rule." Ibirapuera gets high marks for landscaping but fails in public relations.

A quiet, chill place in the center of the city, away from chaos. It has an area of 2 square km. It is a very green and beautiful area. There are also cafes inside. You can rent a bike and explore. People mainly come to run, skate, skateboard and dance.

A great place for a walk, rest, but also for sports. Here you will find a place for a picnic, playgrounds and group sports, but also secluded places away from the crowds.

A huge park with wide asphalt roads with separate lanes for pedestrians, runners and bicycles. In many places there are stalls with drinks, acai or coconut water, but also a few pubs. Beautiful vegetation, flowers and plenty of large trees for shade. Two ponds, and in one of them a fountain illuminated after dark. The part of the park dedicated to culture - buildings with art galleries and exhibitions, artistic murals, a planetarium and several other attractions. Certainly not for one day.

Sand volleyball courts, astro turf soccer courts, massage tables, dance sessions, rollerblading and so much more spread throughout the park. They offer lots art exhibits and beautiful grounds to just sit back and take in the scenery, Well worth a visit.

We loved walking around this park but biking lets you see so much more! It’s absolutely worth it to rent a bike to see the whole park. It was very inexpensive and they have options for people who may not know how to.

I go there almost every month, great place to go with family, friends or even alone. Full of nature and great for exercise activities, having a picnic or just walking. Every now and then there are companies wanting to promote a product/activity, etc. and you end up getting a little gift, the last time I went I got food and a pot to measure the quantity for my dog. A lot of people go there at night, I personally don't like it much, especially in the area around it because you have to wait for buses and such, but if you have a car or take an Uber/99/etc, I think it's quieter.
