The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

We go here regularly either for jogging early in the morning or for walks with our six year old. This is a very well kept park, with a central 3km jogging circuite or a 6km perimetral one. A nice little pond is roughly at the middle circled by threes that flower in July and August. There is plenty of other... More

There are always tons of people jogging or riding bikes, in fact you can rent a bike very cheap (I believe near gate 4).

A place in Sao Paulo that you must go when visiting. The architectural structures inside the park were drawn by Oscar Niemeyer, famous Brazilian architecture. All the same time cosmopolitan and shaped to smooth the urban stiffness. Ibirapuera's Park is the place to be in touch with nature in the middle of the city, do some exercise on a Sunday... More

To me this is the best place after spending 5 days of business trip at SP. No offence but SP is a massive, dull and crowded city overall but this park cheered me up. The tranquility yet the lively scene of people cycling, walking or just lying under the sun, people of all ages; everything is perfect. And bumped into... More

It is the most famous park in the city of São Paulo, with plenty of green and a lake , not very clean , with two museums, there also happens the Art Biennial. Good for running, exercises, skateboard, cycling and meet people. however in the sunny days of the weekend , especially on Sundays it is unbearably full. Any way... More

I've been told it can be dangerous, but I've had some late night fire breathing sessions there (yes, really) and never had a problem. It's a huge area, with all kinds of birds and beautiful views. Beats the crap out of the NYC Central Park.

A park full of activities for all ages. Playground for kids, wonderful lunch buffet at MAC (Museum of Modern Art) or at any of the other places for food - they have good snacks and lunch options. Enjoy the Afro-brazilian Museum and ask for a Monitor if possible - one of the best Museums in town ! MAC is worth... More

This place was near our hostel so we decided to walk thru and see the sights. There are many sculptures and play structures, a creek that runs thru it. You can see many kids and adults playing sports or on jungle gyms, running or biking thru the park as well. PLENTY OF PPL PLAYING POKEMON! Oh, and the lake/huge pond... More
