It´s a very large place, immersed in a cream color, and full of archades. I found discrete dozens of ossuaries with names of men dead during and after the Revolution of 1932. Since I was there at the 9th July, very date of anniversary of the Revolution, there had been brought in a dozen more remains of revolutionaries, just dead, covered by the Sao Paulo flag. There are two very very beautiful golden mosaics on the wall. In the center there is a special ossuary where stay ossuaries from young guys dead at the beginning of the revolution. You can visit the Obelisc properly, going outside and up, in a beautiful terrace. Obelisc is a very thigh place but its doors, its mosaics and the view down from there are worthwhile.
Ask for help for the policemen there, because one of them knows everything about every detail, and can tell you!

I was surprised by the nice sanctuary below the obelisk which was free entrance. The obelisk itself is cool, but there's no real added value to go closer as you can't mount it. It's next to the Ibirapuera park on a busy cross roads.

Go to the inside and breath the peace.

A homage to the fallen of the constitutionalist Revolution in 1932, is more beautiful from the inside.

This is beautiful monument to the Revolution of 1932. The Shrine below to the soldiers and citizens lost is worth a visit.

Obelisk of São Paulo is a 72 meters tall monument in Ibirapuera Park in the great city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Park houses many historic and cultural monuments. The Obelisk was inaugurated in 1955, one year after the opening of Ibirapuera Park. It is made of pure marble and surrounded by four panels carrying images from Biblical passages and scenes of São Paulo's history. Obelisk of São Paulo is a symbol of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, and the final resting place for more than 700 combatants.

This monument is a symbol of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, and the biggest monument of the city of São Paulo. The height of the monument is 72 meters (236 ft 3 in). The construction of the monument was started in 1947 and completed in 1970.

The obelisk is a project of the Italo-Brazilian sculptor Galileo Ugo Emendabili, who arrived at Brazil in 1923. The obelisk, made with pure travertine marble, was inaugurated on July 9, 1955, one year after the inauguration of Ibirapuera Park.

This can be seen from anywhere near or within the park. Clean architecture but not worth a particular visit. Spend your time in the park and view from a distance

The obelisk is so high and it can been seen from the park. It is a symbol for Brazil but as a sculpture is not something special. Visit it only if you want to take some pictures of it.
