Located in a Victorian-era structure reminiscent of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Catavento Cultural is chock-full of interactive, hands-on exhibits and educational activities for children. Subjects covered include space, wildlife, geography, the human body and society. They are presented in action-filled, engaging fashion for the little ones. The surrounding neighborhood can be a bit sketchy, so taking a cab is recommended.

Great museum for the kids!

I was at Catavento with the whole family, including grandparents and little cousins. It was great fun.

This place is mainly for children. In this place a child can learn, see, and get in touch with the basic knowledge. And there are sectors where children can enjoy real experience of sciences. Also, this place can be visited by families where they can enjoy the park outside the building and enjoy the beauty of the flowers.

I believe this is the best museum for kids in the city. They have a real plane and 3 trains outside (that you can go in) and also the exposition is very interactive. The only down point is that they only accept cash so withdraw 50 reals before you go.

Nice museum but it is getting old and many interactive parts were not working anymore. It has the potential to be the best south america museum, but the website it not updated and some areas were still with work in progress even after the august dead line mentioned in the site.

What can I say? It's so great and fun for the whole family, even for adults!!! There are some attractions that need to be scheduled, but that's so much to explore that I didn't feel like I had missed anything by not going to these extra activities. I think it's free on Saturdays, or at least at the first Saturday... More

Nice place to take Kids for a Cultural and funny visit. The problem is the terrible traffic in the neighborhood what makes difficult to park in there...
