The place isn't too big and was crowded when we were there because it was a national holiday. They have live penguins! But they looked tired and statue like. Should see it if you are staying in Santos: Kids love it

Compared to other aquariums I saw in Europe and Brazil, this is one of the smallest. No fancy large aquariums where you walk in a tunnel through the fish, and no huge sharks. But there are quite large sharks and rays, and generally a nice variety of fish. I am not the best judge, but everything seemed well maintained, although I wondered why the big turtle was swimming in an empty tank without any plants. The sea lions department was just being cleaned, which was a pity. I understood that this was one of the first aquariums to use water fresh from the sea.

Visit to Aquarium in Santos - Brazil. Given that Santos is a relatively small town I suppose this Aquarium has limited funds. The tanks showing smaller fish are good to see and give good information about the different fish and where they are from. My concern is for the seals, the penguins and the two sharks - the spaces for these larger creatures are too small and the conditions do not look good at all. It is fully wheelchair accessible - and Santos in general is rather good on wheelchair access.

I have to tell you guys that I really don't like places like circus, zoo, aquarium. I know I should not go because I only get upset about the way the animals are kept there. The day we visited the aquarium was very rainy, it was going on and on almost all day, so after a recommendation of a friend, we decided to take our little one to have a look. The queue to the cashier was approx. 1km long with a lot of whining children, we almost gave up before our daughter got bored of waiting as well, when a gentlemen came and led us to the preferential cashier. The adult ticket is R$ 8.00 (suspiciously cheap) children below 2 can enter free of charge. It was very busy inside, children and parents trying to see animals through the glass walls. Some animals look pretty bad and their water and little land dirty and small. It makes you feel guilty that you give money to support maintaining a place like this.

Very nice attraction for a good price
Do not expect a big place
It's a quite small but the maintenance is good. They do not have guided tours but don't worry. The signs got an English language.
The pinguim is the best attraction
There is not food place to buy inside.
Worth a visit.

The aquarium was well situated. for a 1/2 hour visit right off the beautiful beach. The displays in the tanks showed a museum that at one time had made a very nice effort to have a little glimpse in sea life as so many cities have, but at a reduced scale as it is not a major location. I do to look at this though the same eyes that saw the Singapore SEAquarium.
This really is a great place for the locals, and a bit less so for the tourists.
The only sad part was the display and enclosure for the penguins was small. It looked like a sad way of having captivity for these larger creatures
This was a great place for younger families
Reduced rates or free for seniors, and the price is not high otherwise.

Its very cheap to get in, so you get what you pay for... not much!
They have good tanks, but not well used. Poorly looking fishes and not many of them, so if that specific fish is hidding for some reason, you dont get to see them at all.

Honestly, my boyfriend´s aquarium at home has more variety and beauty than this one, but the highlight is the Sea Lion that were swuimming around when we visited.

If you get 20-30 min to spare.. its a good and cheap thing to do.
