The place isn't too big and was crowded when we were there because it was a national holiday. They have live penguins! But they looked tired and statue like. Should see it if you are staying in Santos: Kids love it

We went on a family trip to Santos (6 adults, 2 children (7 and 5 years old)). The aquarium has stingrays, catfish, fish from the amazon region, sharks, piranhas, frogs, turtles (one absolutely huge!), magelan penguins and more. Entrance fee was R$5.
Too bad the sea lion wasn't there - it died. They are looking for replacement.
We did notice the tanks needed a little cleaning....
At the end of the visit you will find a nice little souvenir store.
After the aquarium visit we followed the sidewalk along the beach and watched some cargo ships leaving the port!

We visited the aquarium on a rainy day, it was crowded, so it was a little bit uncomfotable, but overall, it is a nice option for cold/rainy days.

Beautiful outside, but old and poor inside. It's a pity to see this traditional place fading away. I can still recall when I used to visit it in my childhood, it was awesome! Then, I took my kids a few times there and realized that Santos public management has only remodeled the building, but attractions are the same in the past 40 years.

The aquarium is very small if compared to the big ones in Lisbon, Monterey, Baltimore etc., but it hosts many local fish, including fish from the Amazon rivers. It was already expanded and it improved a lot since it s original conception. Children will certainly appreciate the visit.

Not worth the money or time, the aquarium has had better days...go and walk in any of the Santos' beaches instead. Tip: If you are traveling with your (own) children out of Santos by bus, make sure you have your children's birth certificates (translated) with you. Without it, it will be very hard to buy their bus tickets and board the bus. We were told that there is a recent law requesting proof of under-age children's guardianship to travel by bus out of the coast due to internal child-trafficking issues. And yes, we had to ask one of my relatives to pick us up by car in Santos as we couldn't board the bus without our daughter's BC!

You can visit all Aquarium in 15 minutes. Very poor and crowdy, long lines. But in Santos, you don't have many options....

I haven't visited many aquariums but I believe that this aquarium is really interesting with many species of fish. Also there were sharks, crabs, penguins, piranhas, frogs, all of them were exposed with full description in front of every animal explaining its species etc. I think it's a very interesting and educational way to spend your morning in Santos. Worths a visit.
