Praia da Ferrugem is the perfect getaway! It has a beautiful beach in connection with a lagoon where a company has kayak and stand up paddle to rent. Around the beach there are amazing view spots - I suggest walking up the hills to enjoy it to the fullest on both sides! During the end of the year this beach... More

So peaceful, natural beauty, and a breeze that takes you to heaven...the waves, the surfers, all make this place quite special. I felt privileged to be there.

Beautiful landscape, full of beautiful people. You can't miss it. Maybe a bit too busy during Jan-Feb but a perfect place to meet people.

There's a lagoon sandwiched between two beautiful beaches. The beaches are great for swimming and going for a run. The lagoon is perfect for kids, at most thigh high on an adult. Watch out for getting your car trapped in the sand, we did (twice) but locals and visiting Argentines were quick to help us our both times. Definitely worth... More

It's been two years that we are going to Ferrugem for the week of the New Year's Eve. The beach is very nice, all in send and very close from the village. It is clean, and the sea as well which allows you to bath when you want (it can be full of jelly fishes though). The conditions are also... More

It's a non crowded beach and the view is beautiful. Just a little difficult to get there, but it's worth it.

Even if you´re not a surfer, this is the beach to go to. Soft, white sand, a nice breeze and green-blue water. There is also the Bar do Zado, famous for their "pastel de siri", a crab-meat fried dumpling, or something to that effect. Surfers also love this beach but what truly makes it special is the beautiful view and... More

So now I have been to Garopaba 3 times over 21 years. Good friends live just down the road in Imbituba. For Brazilians, this town is almost a pilgrimage. What they don't realize is that Brazilian beaches, when compared with say, Thailand or Caribbean, are just so-so. That makes Garopaba one of the better "so-so" beaches in southern Brazil. But... I went for the first time to Ferrugem in February 2008 and found an incredible natural beach, with a small river just connecting to the sea. Incredibly beautiful and with nice waves for surfing as weel.

This is a beautiful place God gave to humans who, as usual, are transforming into a hell. The primitive taste of the site is gone and little by little it is becoming as the other crowded beaches of Santa Catarina. Ugly constructions by the sea, bad and expensive restaurants and all kind of dirt over the shore vegetation that should... More
