Perfect spot to visit. You can find lots of things such as: antiques and a big variety of collectables, books, music, so many art craft displayed that will make you feel like you need to buy it all.

This is Porto Alegre's main attraction in a Sunday, go for a walk in the park, get some fresh air , see the locals drinking their chimarrão. And look for a bargain you might get a cheap souvenir :)
