The historic building has been renovated and many of the original features were preserved. the stained glass ceiling is out of this world. Normally has exhibits that are super interesting - I went to a Picasso showing, and a Brennand showing, both beautifully staged. Has a nice cafe, great environment. close to the Art Museum - which has a cafe... More

Perhaps the best free attraction in Porto Alegre. The magnificent ceiling and interior make this a cultural gem. The exhibits are very impressive. On the lower level there are range of displays on the history of the bank. Gift shop also available.

If you feel like checking nice exhibitions around Porto Alegre, then this is the best spot. A lot of interesting artists from all around the globe passed around these museus. Plus, this is a free attraction, and in a very cultural area of the city. Go there and enjoy.

Was there at a film festival. Very nice, great coffee shop inside, the location is good. Not for touristic visit but it's good to check the programme. Sometimes they have great cultural activities in a good price

Nice museum in city centre, amazing old, historical classical building in a great green square, close to Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana....but I would prefer to spend my time in Ibere Camargo or Ling Institute and in a sunny days in a green area (the city offers a lot of spaces) or walking around Bomfim.

The Santander Cultural houses many great exhibitions and is a gem of a building itself. Definitely worth the visit. The shop is also a great place.

The Santander Cultural is worth going. there you can find a coffee shop inside a safe cause the place used to be a bank. Its arquitecture is beautiful , as soon as you come into it look up and you see a glamorous view. it´s a place with very nice shows and it´s open to the community.

We saw a really neat art show here, some choro music, and a guitar + bass concert. There's always something, it's always affordable, and the building is gorgeous. The columns alone are worth coming in for! (giant Corinthian columns.) Oh, and the cafe in the old bank vault is very nice as well.
