About
The Gaucho Park is the only theme park in the world that rescues the formation and evolution of the Gaucho, his uses and habits. The Park has a complete infrastructure for culture, gastronomy and leisure. In an area of 120 thousand square meters, the Park has the Gaucho Memorial, Thematic restaurant (Pulperia), Taming Arena, creole animals rescue program, Galpao mirim (a playful space that teaches Gaucho traditions, especially for children), herbarium and organic garden, area for cowboy work presentations. Another attraction of the venture is the Gaucho City, the interactive thematic space presents the main types of housing in the deep pampa during the eighteenth century.

If you enjoy history, this is the place to understand how indians and locals settled in the region, their customs, way of living and how they evolved.

It is more a place for events (dressage, churascaria, buying horses etc) and I had the feeling the exhibition, albeit interesting as you do learn about the very hard live of the people down here in the past, is more of a side show. It is good, yes, but clear sense the place was not thought out for that. Which may not be a problem but had it been a more central piece I would have put a 4.

For just 10,00BRL on plus on your tickef ot "Gramado Zoo" doesn't worth the money and time expended there.
You are forbidden to take pictures (even without flash) on their miniatures and replicas of Gaucho's living way. The total tour will not tale more than 10 minutes.
You can also have a horse's tour for an additional 10,00BRL... don't do it.. takes less than 5 minutes in a distance lower than 100 meters.
The only thing that's really could worth it, is the restaurant with tipical food of the region

The entrance for this park is included when you buy the ticket for the Gramado zoo. So, after an awesome visit to the zoo we decided to give a try to the Gaucho park. It worth it a lot!

I am living in Porto Alegre since 2009 so I am familiar with the Gaucho culture (the culture of the people of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, where Gramado lies) but this park is a very well organised park, and museum, showing how this culture was created. The explanation of the different cycles (mate, wool, meat, etc.) was very interesting and the person who guide us was very willing to sharing his knowledge with us.

The restaurant was good with a very good attention and fantastic bread! We decided not to have the full lunch but a simpler option but was enough for my wife and me. Then we went to visiting the native species. The bulls, the horses but, mostly, the dogs were very nice. It was fantastic to see the species of animals the grew in the wild in the state and now are "creole" (crioulo) species. I liked a lot the puppies of crioule bulldog. It is a breed I didn't know

Parque gaucho is a good place to visit to get to know more about the state culture and the gaucho. The museum does not have many things to see. Some old culture about how gaucho lived in the state years ago. But as you probably have payed for the Gramado Zoo, take the same ticket and reuse it here. I suggest going there in lunch time as they have a very nice restaurant with a tipical state meal. Do not miss the restaurant. The price is average for Gramado. You choose the meat you want and they prepare it separate. There's a free buffet with rice and beans and other food from the state. Also typical deserts.

We didn't plan to see this place, but agreed to the rather expensive combined ticket with Gramado Zoo. But it was worth it. The park coveres a rather big area, near a deep valley with beautiful sceenary.
On the first part, there is an interesting exhibition about the Gaucho culture in southern Brazil. Unfourtunatly it is forbidden to take pictures in this part. Outside there is a garden with herb plants.
In the second part there is a churrascaria restaurant, and another exhibition where you can take pictures. Outside the is a big area with animals, good place to bring children.
