Awesome! I saw a lot of dolphins swimming very close to me! The beach is very clean and beautiful. I don’t think it’s necessary to buy the boat tickets to see the dolphins. In my opinion it is the best Pipa beach.

The access to this beach depends on the tide, so you must go very early to return around noon, when the tide goes down and the passage between the rocks is open again to walk.
The schedules of the tides are published in the lodgings and some public places or where hire tours.
It is a quiet beach, without shade (make sure you bring something to solve that), where you can rent SUP boards, but even without them, you enter the water and the dolphins jump right in front of you (that´s how I found out they have a pink belly).
For someone who enjoys seeing animals in freedom, it is a beautiful experience. And, as you have to return at noon, there is still plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day, relaxed and having swum with dolphins (I did it every morning I was there).
What better than that!

Here you get the closest to the Dolphins, make sure to visit this place. Also, check how the tide is going to be, since you can only easily access this place when there is low tide.

If you want to find a good motivation to walk through rocks for couple of hundred meters to get to Baia dos Golphinos just think about the name and you´ll find one! If you go just before noon you could go swimming into a beautiful calm and warm see and have a peek of the dolphins that comes around every now and then. Apart from that here you will find beach bars and everything to spend the day. The bay is very narrow so the wind is quite calm too. For us was paradise.

To reach (and to leave) this beach is not so simple: you must know the tides time, because the only way to get there is walking from Pipa center beach and you can't when the tide is high. Some sections of the way you must walk over rocks, so it is not for everyone (not very difficult, but you can't reach it with a wheelchair, for example). But the effort has its prize, the beach is beautiful, you can rent two loung chairs and an umbrella for 30 Reais (around 8 USD), and eat some simple dishes or sandwiches there for a reasonable price, the water is warm, calm, and from time to time you can see the dolphins swimming 5 or 10 meters from you, it's amazing. For me, it's the best beach in Pipa (if you don't want to surf, of course).

We were in Pipa for 6 days, obviously the first things locals tell you you should visit is Praia dos Golfinhos. So we did. The first day we went, we did not see anything. We were upset lol. Them someone told us that we should go back and just observe, that most of the time they are there, you just have to look. So we did, we went back the next day, rented a kayak and we saw them. Do not expect them to do tricks for you all day, they just swim there, right next to you. You do have to be a little farther away from the beach as it is very shallow so obviously they can not get too close. If you are a good swimmer just go ahead and swim or rent a kayak. From the beach you can also spot them. Just be patient and you will see them.

Stunning beach, accessible only by walking at low tide or by boat. Calm water perfect for swimming, chairs/umbrellas/drinks/snacks but no crowds or noise. And dolphins playing the water close to shore every day. Don't miss it!

Almost private beach that you can only access by walking. No infrastructure so it is quite relaxing to be you and the nature. Some guys rent beach chairs and umbrellas quite cheap. Must go if you are in town. Just be careful with the tides when arriving and leaving.

If you love dolphins, do not support the boat tours. Not the small ones, not the big ones. We swam with the dolphins every morning for four days, taking the lovely and relaxing 15-minute walk along the shore from town (best to go as the tide is going out; times changes daily). If you listen carefully underwater you can hear the squeaking and clicking, and definitely see dolphins all around. They frolic happily near the surface until the boats arrive, sometimes four or five at a time, motors buzzing. The noise drowns out everything. Clouds of exhaust, perfume and sunscreen, people yelling and taking pictures. There is no sense that the boat operators care about the wellbeing of the dolphins, who use the tranquil waters of the bay for fishing and rearing their babies, who you may also see frolicking along the surface. And the boats show little regard for swimmers or kayakers, moving closely among them (us) in chase of the animals, swerving and reversing without warning, and often without looking, and leaving suddenly at great speeds. We saw a trio of dolphins put on a fantastic show in the shallows, to the delight of many people standing in the water. The best, most ecologically sensitive view of the dolphins is from the beach, or swimming among them in the water. If you take a kayak, keep a respectful distance. If you love dolphins support them by boycotting the intrusive boats, and tell the touts on the beach exactly why you are not interested in their tours. Awful. Horivel. Terrible.
