For sure, there are a lot of better choices to be done at Rio. Go to the beach, or any other open place. Rio's about open places, keep it in mind.

This place you can have lot of fun and know the locals! On fridays the have live samba music, cold beer and snacks for a fair price. You can reach the Lapa's arch in 5 minutes. Go and have fun!

I went there just once and I had a great time. The show, cabaret on ice, is hilarious. But if you speak portuguese wil be better, if not necessary.

It is a gay place attended mostly by working class guys (Yes, this distinction is very stong in Brazilian gay scene). Well know for tis cheap beer and karaoke.
