Santa Teresa has many point of interest and it is a recommended place to visit mainly during the daytime as at night it can be a bit tricky. Great Escaleras de Salaron, tram, wall murals and restaurants. Very good place to visit

We enjoyed an entire morning in this area and worth seeing when in Rio. One thing though, even at that time, I'm not sure how safe the area is when off the beaten path. We were approached by three youths, somewhat intimidating, I suppose the...More

I would very much recommend you to have a long walk through the streets of this neighbourhood. Enjoy all the scenery, the colors, the views from the top and much more. A place to go during the daytime.

I really enjoyed our visit to Santa Teresa. The colors are amazing, it is quiet, peaceful but the art makes large noises.

Stayed here for a weekend and we loved it, artisans, good restaurants, and reasonably priced, many nice pousadas close to The sambodrome etc.

We stayed at the nice and affordable Mama shelter hotel. Nice bars and restaurants were in walking distance. We never used a but and reached all interesting locations by foot. We always felt very safe. Lot of bars have a life music in the evening's.

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.
