Tried to get here earlier in the week but there was too much cloud. Had an hours wait to get up but it's thoroughly worth while. The only downside is the minefield of people trying to take photos everywhere, including on the narrow steps. You...More

You know what this is. Get there early. I went at nine on a Sunday morning and there were no queues, although already quite a few people. The train up is the way to get there: you get a look at some of the forest...More

Christ the Redeemer will offer some of the most amazing views you will ever have in your life! We took the Cog train up here, which is the way to go, but I believe you can also take a bus or even hike up there...More

Christ the Redeemer speaks for itself a stunning view and location. Only down side is the abundance of selfie sticks, which should have a worldwide ban! Getting to/from it on the other hand is a disorganised shambles. Taxi drivers refuse to take tourists to the...More

So paid over the top to visit first thing in the morning before the crowds arrived. Probably just worth it as got lovely photos which would have been impossible by the time we came to leave. Area around the statue is not massive so becomes...More

Spectacular views! Really enjoyed my time up here. Super crowded but still pretty easy to get around. I opted to buy my ticket and shuttle from Copacabana. Best way to get the top most efficiently

For me, it was very tricky to see the statue. I have visited Rio de Janeiro in January, which for Brazil it was a summer season. During my stay, the weather wasn't at it's best, it was raining, and the clouds were very low, therefore...More

I asked a guide where was the one place you had to go in Rio on your first visit, and he didn't hesitate: Christ the Redeemer. I wasn't disappointed by the statue, but it was very crowded. Not sure if there are days when there...More

Hi. We are planning a visit to Rio next March/April. Does it make a big difference in crowds if you avoid Easter. We can either come middle March or Easter weekend. I am thinking the crowds will be crazy on Easter weekend but much less two weeks before - is that right? Thank you Jill

I have no experience with visiting during Easter but what I can recommend is that you hire a private driver to ensure you arrive at the top by 8 am to buy the tickets at the counter. There were very few ppl when I arrived at... More
Hi! I'm hoping to hit both Corcovado and Sugarloaf in the same day (a long day, I know, but our time in Rio will be limited). Are there taxi stands at Corcovado or maybe near Pargue Lage that we could use to get to Praia Vermelha?

In Rio we have Uber and other sites and also many taxis in the streets. It is possible to visit both in one day, but tou have to begin early in the morning because of the crowds only in the weekends and holidays.

I went in a group in a mini bus. We were able to attend the site and leave our belongings in the bus. I don't recall seeing any places around that would accomodate or store your belongings, but then again I wasn't really... More
