Forgive me if my comparison offends but the lagoon correspond to Rio in the same way the Central Park corresponds to New York. It is remarkable! There people can walk, run, practise aquatic sports, ride bicycle, rollerblade, meet and cheer up. There is a round lane about 8 km if I m not wrong. It is so peaceful there that... More

Usually postcards, the very few whick still are manufactured, look much better than the actual place. Well, not in the case of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. There is beauty everywhere and lots of things to do for those who enjoy outdoor activities. There are rental bikes, skating areas, jogging tracks. Families gather on Sundays for picnics, couples enjoy the benches... More

Personally, I love walking and bicycling at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. I have my own KHS bike which I love, but if you do not have a bike, you can rent one around the bike track of the "Lagoa" or rent an orange bike on bike pools(you have to use a cell phone to rent the bike) that are spread... Great for walks and some family/romantic time. Best in the morning and afternoon, mostry on sundays. Some parts are not very safe to walk at night, avoid or be careful.

A very nice view and a good place to go for a long walk. There are walkways and a bicycle path around the lake and although it gets a little crowded on weekends it is still a pleasant experience except for the abysmal water quality due to the amount of raw sewage that gets dumped into the lagoon. The smell... More

This is a really nice lake in the middle of the city. Its a calm, relaxing area. You'll find many people jogging around the perimeter. The lake used to be cleaner earlier but its a little dirty now. People even swam often but you can't even think of doing that now. There are some nice restaurants near the lake. I'd... More

It is a very pleasant way of spending a saturday or sunday morning. Rent and ride a bike or just walk around the lake. By all angles the view of the mountains is astonishingly beautiful. If you are romantic or have children, rent a "pedalinho" to navigate in the waters of the lake. Parks, with tennis courts, skate and other... More

Surrounded by the most upscale and scenic neighborhoods of the South Zone, the lake is popular among sports practitioners, amateurs and even professionals. Besides the bicycle path around the banks, the place has public courts, including 2 tennis ones, equipments for calisthenics and other attractions. You will also find restaurants and bars, with a great variety of styles. If you... More
