Most of the days we stayed in Rio, it was cloudy and we really couldn't see the sunset. We walked up there on one early in the morning. There were not too many people. Ipanema beach is pretty clean and nicely kept. But not sure...More

Adjacent to Ipanema, near the Arpoador garden. Nice, but not so attractive as Ipanema. Lots of people.

One of the most remarkable sunsets you will ever see in your life, between the two brothers mountains it is just unbelievable. It is a ritual, everybody goes to the Arpoador Stone to wait the sunset and as soon as it starts everybody applauds it....More

A bit hard to get to and a bit dodgy when not light. Good surfing. Decent beach. Real attraction is the views of the ocean and the mountains. Really neat geological features on the rocks in the area. Good steps and trails on the area.

Be sure to take a walk up the rocks, it is worth the overlook of the Rio beaches and try it all while sipping on a coconut:)

This areas lies where Ipanema turns the corner to Copacabana. Lots of people go here but the views are not much different and it is a bit scruffy. If you are near then drop in.

We are surfers staying in Ipanema, close to Arpoador beach. It is an excellent beach to surf, also for beginners. There are guys on the beach renting out boards, and you can even get surf lessons. We spent a lot of time on Arpoadar beach...More

Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the
best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is

high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which
can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue.
The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing
