Arpoador is known to be the tip of Ipanema Beach in Rio. Many are not aware that at night , though you have to be careful, the rocks and sand portions, and a deck in which a park is located, is open for visitors. The view is simply fantastic and perfect for photograph lovers. You can see many couples or... More

Take a stroll in Ipanema Beach , reach The Arpoador Stone, seat there facing the Morro Dois Irmãos and watch the most beatful sunset ever!

The beach area that lies between Ipanema and copacabana beach, we claimed the rock formation to catch the sunrise, and th En watched the sunset over the twin brothers at the end of the day. Another must do in Rio

Arpoador is a massive rock dividing Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. We gathered at sunset drinking a caipirinha and waiting for Ipanema to start lighting up. Unforgettable.

One of the best views in Rio. Absolutely stunning! Need to get there at 5:30 to get a nice spot because the place gets really crowded.

Perfect plan for the sunset in Rio. Beautiful view. Many spots to overlook the sea and get away from the crowd for a great picture!

Of course it's impossible for this to be a real hide-away as it's sandwiched between 2 of the city's great beaches, but it is less noisy/crowded and just a little bit removed from the hubbub of what's going on around it. the rocks make for some nice snorkelling and the local kiosks are friendly...most important is the fact that you... Staying in Ipanema

Neighborhood Profile
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.
