Warm sunset moment surrounded by people from all over gathered on the beach or strolling the wide famous sidewalk to see the majestic star fade away on the ocean! Grateful clapping can be heard all around!

The view is simply fantastic and perfect for photograph lovers. You can see many couples or... More

The beach area that lies between Ipanema and copacabana beach, we claimed the rock formation to catch the sunrise, and th En watched the sunset over the twin brothers at the end of the day. Another must do in Rio

Arpoador is a massive rock dividing Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. We gathered at sunset drinking a caipirinha and waiting for Ipanema to start lighting up. Unforgettable.

One of the best views in Rio. Absolutely stunning! Need to get there at 5:30 to get a nice spot because the place gets really crowded.

Staying in Ipanema

Neighborhood Profile
Ipanema
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.
