Good fun night spot on 3 floors and with loads of interesting decoration on the walls. Predominantly its a Samba club and has a big stage with a live band as you come in. Unfortunately I had my Olympic jacket stolen from here as I didn't realise there was a cloakroom on the top floor. At least the thief was... More

Great place for young adults & old-timers to share the dancefloor and sounds of the samba! Plenty of tables and satellite bartended stations with hand-crafted caipirinhas within its multi-leveled halls. Fun!!

I fight started on the first floor, next to the band and no security appeared. Then, I guy that was in the fight got a gun out of his bag and shot the other guy, 1 meter away from him. No security came. Only his friends split up the fight. He was not put out of the place by any... More

Dear dhteodoro, At august 11th, an Federal Agent arrived at Rio Scenarium and, upon entering, the metal detector advising that the agent was carrying a weapon. In accordance with standard procedure, security staff requested that he present his license and identify the weapon for the required safety registration, which he did. The federal agent presented his identification and invoked the... More

What a fun place. Three levels of delicious food, well made drinks and high energy music. The salsa bar annex is cool too although I prefer the main area. The later it gets, the more lively the place is and the longer the line out he door so get there before 9 and plan on partying all night. I will... More

Place very nice and beautiful But it's too expensive! It's very turistic. You find more people from outside the country than local people. I do nota recomend.

Was here for a company party but the architecture, the music, the food and live music are outstanding. Will have to come back when not around working colleagues to see if its as impressive. But definitely worth a second visit! I strongly recommend it!

I went to Rio Scenarium with a (tourist) friend on a Saturday. Although I am natural from Rio - a carioca - I confess I was not sure on how safe it would be to be downtown late night and at the early hours. Arriving at Rua do Lavradio I was surprised with how crowded it was... Booming with restaurants.... More

One of the most interesting show house, an old house, with three floors, an amazing old decoration. We can choose to have snaks with drinks, to dance in another room, or see and dance a music live show. Brazilian music, like samba, chorinho. it's a tipical Carioca place at Lapa area.

On three floors all decorated with objects d'art this had a good live band playing Brazilian tunes (but not Samba or Bosonova on the night we went). The atmosphere is great and some elderly Latino ladies were putting everyone to shame with their moves. You can eat and drink at reasonable prices and you would have to be a square... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
