Samba

Great entertainment, it's a museum and a samba club. It has three floors and even an elevator going up and down between them. Entrance fee of 50 Reais.

Absolutely amazing! Probably the most best in Brazil. Three floors of an old Brazilian townhouse beautifully decorated with oddities. Go only if to see the club. The music is absolutely superb. All the locals are here including families (with small children). Don't miss this in Rio

Tourist trap is maybe not the word, as there are locals as well; but it's a completely "industrialized" bar, you'll feel like on a conveyour belt until you're out. The place is huge, it has three floors and even an elevator going up and down between them... but the entrance fee of 50 Reais might only be justified when a... More

I went with my family, 4 adults and 4 children and we felt safe to start. We had a reserved table close to the stage which a great samba band was playing and making everyone dancing on floor. On second floor a 70's band playing world music, it was excellent, the hard part was to decide where to be because... More

We just realized that all tables have been reerved!! Meanwhile the place is empty!!! What a change os the management - no more here! The very nice atmosfere has changed by this new practice. What's better than entering and finding a table!

45R$ cover charge / ingresso not mentioned till you get the final bill. Covers live music they say. What a pitty that from the place I was sitting, I could only here "umpfff- umpfff" because of a lousy sound system. Average food, indecent mark up on the wine. Huge place, but many places closed for private parties. Easy contact with... More

My Brazilian gf took me here as it's a very famous spot in Rio and Brazil. At the weekends you need to arrive early to avoid queues and a valid disappointment. The place from the outside looks fairly small but once your inside it's 3 floors on a huge scale! Live music on each floor, salsa dancing and Brazilian food/drinks.... More

Indeed an attraction. Good music, live stage and not. Different areas, different vibes. Brazilian style music with friendly and nice ambience. Food on offer is good and can meet all sorts of people, local and visitors. Located in a safe area with many more clubs, restaurants and bars. Worth the visit, can stay long and enjoy the different areas...

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
