About
Discover, open, smell, eat and savour over 16 exotic and tropical fruits during a walking tour of a produce fair. We are fruit lovers, and if you are`nt, you might become one also after this tour. Brazil is home to over 200 fruits. Some from the amazon jungle, some from the atlantic forest, some from the savanah region. Some are extremely sour, some extremely sweet. None are unimpressive. All are photogenic. Our tours last 80 minutes and we usually max out the number of participants to 8, so you can ask all your questions to our tour guide. Our tours happen in the following produce fairs: Monday: Ipanema/Leblon Tuesday: Ipanema Wednesday: Copa Thursday: Copa Friday: Ipanema Saturday: Jardim Botanico We hope to see you, so you can discover one of the tropic`s biggest treasures.

We really enjoyed our tour guide, Arnaldo was awesome! We learned some history about Rio and also learned about the culture. There were so many tasty fruits, many I've never seen or heard of let alone tasted! Even the fruits I've had before tasted better than I've had. Great fun to do! I also recommend the local empanada style snack and checking out the clothes and trinkets for sale.

Georg gave us a fantastic, friendly tour of the local market in English, explaining the fruits as we tasted them. The whole experience was so laid back and really gave a flavour of local life in Rio. It's very easy to walk through a market and not really know what is happening but after this tour, we will definitely be getting fruit and food from markets we come across. Georg was incredibly informative and we were greeted with nothing but kindness by the market stall sellers. We were able to taste many fruits (both that we had heard of and that we had not) and were able to take away the leftovers in a little tray for later. This tour has been one of the highlights of our trip to Rio and I would definitely do it again if I were in Rio again.

I always like trying out new fruits when I travel and I was overwhelmed by all the exotic fruits when I arrived in Rio. It was awesome to have Georg, our guide, take us through each fruit in English, telling us a story for each one and allowing us to taste them.

Our tour guide-Carina was excellent-she was very professional as well as patient as we arrived a little late. The fruit tasting was sensational with flavors of fruits I had never tasted before. We had a great time together. I would definitely recommend this tour for all those foodies who enjoy trying something different…

This was an informative tour with good communication and context. The tasting itself was in a comfortable setting with plenty of time for discussion.

This is a DO NOT SKIP tour. It exceeded our every expectation. Hayza was the BEST guide, our kids absolutely loved it - we had fruits we had never even heard of before. I would give it 100 stars if I could.

We loved this tour!! Hayza is a wonderful guide — first we walked through the market and saw all the produce. If there were fruits we were curious about that Hayza hadn’t already bought (she got most of the fruits before we arrived), she got some for us to try too. After walking through the market, we ate over 20 different kinds of fruit and also got to take leftovers with us. Since we live in the US, it was especially fun to try new-to-us tropical fruits, like cashew fruit, acerola, jambo, and seriguela, as well as different (usually better) versions of fruits we can get at home, like avocado, papaya, and bananas

Erika was a lovely guide. Excellent tour through the market - opportunity for questions about Brazilian history, fruits and lots of tips on a good vacation. Erika went above and beyond to make our experience an excellent one.

Erica was a true fruit loving tour guide. She brought fruit from her own garden as well as the Ipanema market so that we could try local fruit in season. After the fruit tasting, we toured the market and learned about other local food. It was fun to compare tasting notes with the others on the tour.
